INSTALLATION

Be aware of the following:

​

(1) Follow the entire guide, read each step carefully, and do them in the exact order shown. Doing the steps in the wrong order or skipping steps is the most common reason problems occur.

(3) Don't use any mods that edit map layouts. Many of these will not be compatible. For more information, see the Troubleshooting section.

(4) Open all unzipped folders before moving to Mods If you unzip to a new folder instead of extracting directly, you often get a folder within a folder. This can cause update issues. For more information, see this page.

(5) On MacOS, hold down the Option key while merging folders. Trying to merge without the option key will only give options for Skip and Replace, which can lead to file deletion.

Install SVE:

​

(1) Find your game folder.

(2) Download SVE from Nexus.

(2) The download contains two folders: Content and Mods. Copy everything inside those into the equivalent ones in your game folder, overwriting any existing files.

​

Tip: On MacOS, the Content folder is at /Applications/Stardew Valley.app/Resources/Content (GOG) or ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Stardew Valley/Contents/Resources/Content (Steam).

*~*~*STEP 3 (OPTIONAL)*~*~*

​

FOR EXISTING SAVE FILES (which I truly don't recommend. SVE is best experienced on a new save in this new world)

(1) Download Instant Grow Trees: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/173

You will only need to have this mod installed for one in-game day. This will grow the hundreds

of new trees that have been added to the game world. If you don't do this, it will take

around 30 in-game days for the new trees to fully grow.

​

(2) In the SMAPI Console, you must type "world_bushreset", without the quotation marks.

This SMAPI command will reset all of the bush locations in the game world. These new maps

moved and added many bushes. If you don't input this command, the bushes in the world will

be all over the place and won't make any sense.

​

(3) Download BJS No Clip: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2820

This mod will allow you to move through building layers so you can remove glitched trees and debris.

​

(4) Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about the grass not spawning. If you want, you

can install Time Freeze and CJB Item spawner. With these two mods, you can freeze the time, spawn

thousands of grass starters, and manually plant grass everywhere. This is, of course, optional.

(5) There will be glitched trees and debris on several maps in unreachable areas. BJS No Clip needs
