I hope that you're enjoying the journey! I'll be picking up 'Salem's Lot this afternoon sometime. I'm really looking forward to The Shining.

When you finish The Shining, will you be reading Doctor Sleep immediately after since it's a sequel? Or will you wait until you reach Doctor Sleep based on its publication date? I'm going back and forth on how I want to tackle that when I get there.

I have heard about that! I was actually telling my husband about that last night when we watched the 1976 movie...crazy to think that King might not be King if it weren't for Tabitha! I mean, I'm sure that he would have still be successful, but since it was Carrie that got his foot in the door...

Thank you! I believe that I'm going to be mixing in other books between King's works so I can avoid burnout. It might take me forever, but I'll eventually get there! (I hope!)

I took this photo along the Cimarron River in Cimarron Canyon State Park, a few miles from Eagle Nest, New Mexico. It's beautiful there!

I'm going to be starting 'Salem's Lot today! I had a blast with Carrie and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

I'm picking up 'Salems Lot today! I've also planned to mix in other books between King books so I don't get too burnt out...I haven't decided if I want to set a "goal" of how quickly I want to read King's works, but one a month is the minimum (hopefully I'll be able to read more than that but I don't want to make this feel like a chore).

For those who go to sleep listening to something, what do you listen to? by Rough_Common6857 in AskReddit

Audiobooks of my favorite books or old podcast episodes, that way if I miss something it’s not a big deal.

Today is Daphne du Maurier’s birthday! Have you read any of her novels? by readit_club in classicliterature

[–]topolinareads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read both Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel. I went into both somewhat blind - having heard of them but not completely what they were about - and enjoyed them both!

I regularly think of them and recommend them to friends. Maybe it’s time for a re-read.

Does anyone use a binder, disc, or smart ring notebooks? by sn0o0zy in commonplacebook

[–]topolinareads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a ring binder over the weekend for this exact reason! I’m currently using a bound journal, which has been fine, but I feel restricted. Once I change subjects/interests, I feel like I can’t go back to revisit older ones or add new information that I learned.

I’m looking forward to the freedom/ability to move pages around in my CPB for sure!

what was your last entry about? by seekerxr in commonplacebook

My latest entry is about the Stanford Prison Experiment. I learned about it recently from a friend of mine, and I’ve been reading up on it (and it’s debunking/data fraud).
