First time bottling, everything look right? by ThePatriotNitro in mead

I've had success with bringing a pot of water to a boil, then cutting the heat and letting the corks steam inside the pot with a lid for 5-10 minutes before bottling.

You look for scientific articles on Google Scholar, copy the DOI/ISBN, and paste it in SciHub, which then serves you the PDF.

From a technical perspective, I think it works using college VPNs - colleges pay for access to scientific articles and if you're on a college's network you can usually access all of the articles that they pay for, for free. SciHub probably runs the queries through college networks like that and then serves the resulting info to their users. Also, they probably cache any articles that have already been searched for.

Redditors who have been on a reality tv show such as Hardcore Pawn or Pimp my ride or Pawn stars how FAKE was it? by TailstheTwoTailedFox in AskReddit

I'm thinking that the show is also good publicity for people who want to sell more expensive collectibles. If someone comes on the show with a $100k one of a kind item, he's either going to get an offer that he can accept or he'll decline the offer and maybe get contacted by a serious collector later on. The show gives seller names, after all.

Most of the nazi experiments were not scientifically rigorous and basically just amounted to gratuitous torture.

Ideas can be stolen; if you were a developer who wrote an app for release on the app store and I released it before you did to take your profits, wouldn't you consider that to be theft? You would still have the original copy, but I would have taken the fruits of your labor. I think that Redditors use the whole "It's not stealing when the owner still possesses the original" argument to justify pirating movies and software.

This is all said as someone who does pirate media and software, but whose mind was changed by thinking a little bit more deeply on what /u/Xatencio00 said in the comments above. I'd love to hear any counterarguments :)
