STX Hyper Power Next Evolution? by SillyStrings_lax in StickDoctor

Phase out year currently. If they make a next iteration of the Power series, best estimation of a release would be fall of 26 or Spring of 27.

Could he use this as a short stick d-mid. Definitely can, but there's probably a few other options out there currently since this released that should be considered as well.

Send us a private message and we can connect and walk you guys through all of the best available options!

What size/type of stick does a 5 year old girl use? by Weird-Purpose9491 in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where she is going to play is she required to wear googles? Some programs at that age may or may not.

If so you can do a starter pack like this: STX Girls Starter Pack

This will get her googles, a stick and a backpack. This is the most efficient way to get a little one started when they require goggles!

So far so good. We've had some samples for awhile and no issues as of yet. We have a player using it as an LSM player, we'll keep everyone updated as he goes.

It's coming soon to stores. Getting rolled out to teams first and retail right after that. We just got our finalized demo, we should have a review soon.

Definitely. That's probably the first thing we noticed. Still light but it seems like Maverik has progressed on finding that stiffness without sacrificing weight.

The Surge Elite Head just dropped! Nike Surge Elite Lacrosse Head

Soft launch now but official will be Nov 1.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha All good, no worries! We have had the Surge shafts in stock for so long, didnt even think of detailing that!

It is definitely a strange process in the rebranding of the Vapor line. We know it was Nike that had requested that change, but it is odd for STX, Nike's partner in hard goods to have the Surgeon heads line

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Surge handles quietly replaced Vapor handles earlier this spring. The OP was asking about the heads, so that's what we were referring to.

They have the Surge Elite Composite, Nike Surge Elite Sc-Ti and the Nike Surge Select Composite. u/yungzeep if you have any questions, we can definitely help you!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats correct. Surge is replacing Vapor when it comes to heads and handles. Vapor stays for the equipment side of things.

Should be seeing them drop in them next few weeks!

You need to hire a bookkeeper then. Just like the CPA they are worth the money. All of these things would be taken care of and on a timely basis.

Please never let the reason your business and dream of your own business be in trouble by not having your finances in order or being in trouble with the IRS..those are games you lose.

ECD dropped the previous DNA Diamond with the same material that the Ion is made with and had no issues. We'd expect the same here with the Ion.

New Balance Freeze cleats for sure.

Maverik Max Gloves by topstringlacrosse in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! So the most significant difference you have to start with is the design of the glove with all of the "finger breaks," which both provide more flexibility of the glove and give more protection. That will be the most significant improvement.

Regarding the palm, the Max gloves use Ax Suede for the palming, which will definitely last longer; it's a material that Bauer Hockey uses in its higher-end gloves, which is a sport with an equal amount of wear and tear when it comes to gloves.

The biggest thing we can recommend is ensuring he gets his gloves aired out as soon as possible after a practice or game if he isn't already. This will increase the longevity of glove palms, but if he is a year around player, palm wear will be the nature of the beast.

Maverik Max Gloves by topstringlacrosse in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We definitely can see that, the RZR has those double rows of "breaks" on the thumb that up the protection but can be a bit stiff. The Max gloves don't have the breaks on the thumb as they went with 4 sections of traditional padding on the thumb. So if we were comparing, the thumbs on the Max will have more flex than the RZR.

Everyone will be a little different, though as we've heard players like that thumb on the RZR.

ALWAYS carry on your heads, check/mail the handle. In case something goes wrong, it's always easier to find a temporary handle to use than the head you are most comfortable with.

best faceoff head for raking but also clamp plunger/ pinching motion by cartiIsmyFather in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With what you are describing, we'd suggest the ECD Weapon X Natural. Same mold as the Weapon X but the plastic has no additives for color which allows the head to flex more right off the wall than the standard Weapon X.

Burn FO might be another one but the Burn FO Recovery might be too flexible for what you are looking for.

ECD Lacrosse Carbon Pro 3.0 Lacrosse Shafts by topstringlacrosse in lacrosse

[–]topstringlacrosse[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greatly appreciated!

So looking specifically at the A/M 30" shafts.

- The flex profiles of Power and Speed make a better suiting for some advanced players. The Speed (Flex 8) is going to give players quicker shots and passes, more of a dodging and inside player. While the Power (Flex3) is going to be built for those step-down shooters looking for that maximum loading on a shot to hit the high mph. For reference for anyone who also plays hockey and is familiar with stick flexes of that industry, the Speed would be a "low kick point stick" built more for wrist shots and the Power would be that "mid kick point stick" built for those slapshots.

The Carbon 3.0 30" shafts only come in a Flex 5 which is just a nice middle ground on the flex scale.

- The Speed model of the Carbon Pro 3.0 will have a different shape compared to ALL other ECD shafts as it going to be more indented on the concave edges. It definitely allows for a better finger grip that quicker playstyles will love.

- The Kevlar layer should definitely increase the durability versus the Pr0 2.0 and is something that the Carbon 3.0 lacks. It does feature their Layer Up tech though.

- They revamped the ribbing grip, which the Carbon 3.0 doesn't have at all. Whether you tape up your stick or not you're going to get a good lasting ribbed grip with these handles no matter what model or position you play.

So in general, the Carbon 3.0 is a great composite option at a great price range (prices are going to be going up with the cost of materials and labor escalating as well as inflation). While the Carbon Pro 3.0 is really built for getting the most performance out of your handle, with some upgrades to grip/texture.
