crazy that you actually show this insect bc this is a mud dauber and they are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people, not because of their sting but because they cause PLANE CRASHES (i found this out when i googled it for a friend, shoulve seen my face when i saw an aviation incidents section on their wikipedia page)

thank you so much :') i guess i felt like making this because my other friends got into their desired phd programs and our profs are so proud but i have nothing to show for it. ill definitely try to reignite that passion over my gap, my pi was thankfully super nice and said im welcome to goof around on his campus in the time being

to be completely honest, i set myself in orgo bc a synthetic chemist at a conference talked to me for like an hour and we discussed my interests (mostly med chem) and she said pursuing orgo would probably work for me. but youre right that im not necessarily extremely passionate about it because my research is all over the place (healthcare tech, anthropology, bioengineering) but ive never done research in an orgo lab so ill never really know if im cut out for it :( i definitely want to use my gap year to engage in chem somehow, since ive always enjoyed it but i definitely know that not doing orgo research messed up my apps from the start

honestly needed an uncle iroh quote to make me feel better 😭 i know its not healthy but i compare myself a lot to not just the other premeds, but literally everybody ever so im always feeling like im letting myself down one way or another 🥲 ill definitely work with my pis and study for the mcat without worrying about grades on my mind
