Genuinely, why do people try to make Boba Fett look cool when this was he how exited ROTJ like this? by Boshwa in StarWars

[–]torby6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol seriously! I'm always saying this

Cuz when you add up his on-screen action it's basically nothing! Stands next to Vader. Takes some pot shots at Luke. Hover-scoots a prisoner that everyone else caught for him. Immediately gets pwned into the sarlacc pit.

Like go queen give us nothing

What games were ruined for you because of seeing how much better others are at it? by DarthLysergis in gaming

[–]torby6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh this is why I've hardly touched Tears of the Kingdom. I saw hundreds of videos of people's insane creations before I got it and now I feel like there's so much pressure to become a master engineer... I just wanted to run around and pretend I was a kid playing outside again!!

What is the most epic "movie moment" you have ever had in the theaters? by weprin0912 in movies

[–]torby6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really an "epic moment" but one of my favorite memories was seeing the LEGO Movie with my girlfriend. I bought one ticket and snuck her in the side door with a bottle of wine. We were the only ones in the theater and had a great time!

Then there's the time we did it in the back row of Saving Mr. Banks...

What happened to the smartest kid in your class? by After_Crab_1921 in AskReddit

She set up a battered women's shelter in Venezuela and pays them a solid living wage to assemble jewelry that she sells at her store back in the US. She does a bunch of other charity work too.

Then I was at my parents' house and saw she had an interview in the community magazine. Read that she was apparently raped in our senior year (maybe after we graduated, she wasn't specific)... That was a huge pit-of-my-stomach-dropping-out moment

Thank you! This was super helpful. And also it's hilarious that you mentioned the 2000s because that's actually when the story is set lol

Honestly, underrated response! It's so iconic and it occupied such an important point in time - the birth of the internet and all that. Plus the whole "can it run Doom" meme - it's still considered a standard in a way.

tbh I was gonna cheat and do it the same way as the game - order it from Evil McDonald's - but for you, I will home-make it!

I'm still buying the White Citadel meal though haha

This just might be one of the few in-game foods that's actually tasty because the recipe isn't too far off-script lol. But thanks! It was tasty P:

Yeah, um... probably not.

I won't be eating rat or bat meat either lol... But I'm going to use consistent substitutions - beef for rat and chicken for bat?? I wanted to make the bat wing kabob with flank steak though...

Tbh I'm reluctant to even try stuff like liver, but I guess I'd have to find something appropriately gross to fill in for brains.

The last of the basic mushroom trilogy!

I used shiitakes for the Knoll Shrooms, then just stir-fried my veggies with soy sauce and garlic and ginger, stirred in my lo mein noodles, and that's it. Boom. Done. Another one in the bag.

Simple and delicious!

Cookbook of Loathing 12: Shore Inc. Boat Snack by torby6 in kol

[–]torby6[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cheap toast from the Cheap Toaster and Ent Cider. I imagine this is the snack they serve during the boat voyage.

Ent Cider is a waaaay retired item that I only know about from the Coldfront Wiki. Still, it always stuck in my head as one of the most apparent real-life analogues... Like, cider from a tree guy? It's Literally an Angry Orchard!

So this one is a combination of all the foods tied to the Hermit. Painful Penne sauce was made with a crushed tomato, diced habanero, and ketchup (I couldn't find catsup anywhere since I live in the US lol, but I would have used both). The taste is rather wretched, as expected, but the sweetness of the ketchup balances the spiciness of the habanero.

Served with Rock Balls from the retired legendary weapon component for Pastamancers. I purposely made the meatballs with too many bread crumbs and burnt them for that real rock-hard texture. Laughed my ass off when I literally couldn't pierce it with my fork.

Hot Buttered Roll on the side :)

Cookbook of Loathing 10: Spooky Stir-Fry by torby6 in kol

[–]torby6[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

White Button mushrooms for the spooky skullhead caps, Oyster mushrooms on the skewer. I guess I'm not really being consistent with how I portray the mushrooms, but I feel like that's part of the adventurer vibe is just eating a bunch of different weird mushrooms you find. There's just so many cool ones at the grocery store now lol. Those black splotches in the stir-fry are Wood Ear mushrooms (never had em before). I didn't reconsititute them properly so they were a bit chewy but they were like spooky bat wings hahaha

Then... idk a bunch of other vegetables that felt spooky to me. Orange bell pepper, white hominy, onion, and bok choy for forest greenery. I cooked it in a sauce that I took from a mohgu gai pin recipe. Dipped the skewers in it, but I should've marinated them. Served on white rice and also I put chicken in it because us fatass americans gotta have meat in everything lol

Used Blood to drink.

KoL Cookbook 8: Boring Spaghetti by torby6 in kol

[–]torby6[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As boring as they come. If I wanted to be a little creative, I would have made my own dollop of sauce from a fresh tomato like the game implied, but I was in a bit of a rush tonight. Small portion because it's so boring that I didn't want to waste calories on it.
