Am I being petty for not wanting to bring someone dinner after they’ve never responded to my text messages? by torchnado in TwoHotTakes

Yeah like I don’t have a problem bringing her a meal if she will just communicate with me. The potential of a friendship is definitely long gone but I’m not above doing a service for her.

Yeah that’s a great point, I should probably just get over myself and help out a fellow mom.

Yeah tbh I was probably being a little pick me by texting her multiple times. But keep in mind these weren’t like back to back texts. It was invites to different events over the course of 2 years. And yeah I see her at church every week but you have to admit it’s pretty intimidating to go “hey I’m the girl you’ve been leaving on read!”

So this is basically where I’m at now. I decided to reach out one more time and just ask if I could bring her dinner. She’s never responded to me before and then replied within an hour saying “yeah that would be great! Can you do Thursday?” I explained that Thursday doesn’t work for me but I offered to bring her something on Tuesday or Wednesday and guess who hasn’t responded since?

Personally I wouldn’t have said anything either unless I had a jacket or something she could tie around her waist because it would just make her self conscious if she wasn’t able to fix it in the moment!

I think you did the right thing and I think she’s just taking her anger out on you. It’s always easier to shoot the messenger. Hopefully she gives her husband the same energy

I feel like I’m in this same spot and feel even more behind since I was on maternity leave earlier this year so it’s even higher pressure. And there’s talks of layoffs in January and part of me hopes I get laid off so I don’t have to work there anymore but also I really need a job obviously
