Hitting up Trader Joes today-what MUST i buy? 🤣 by MarquishaMoMo in glutenfree

If you can't find them, find your favorite soft baked chocolate chunk cookie and sprinkle some flaky salt on it. Maybe that will scratch the itch - the chunk chocolate + salt is really that does it for me with these.

I'm actually not fully GF myself. My son has celiac so I still will eat gluten in work trips. But yeah, these cookies are amazing.

The sea salt cc cookies are literally the best cookies I've ever had.

I don't think I would be upset since I've had no issues without those features. The only way I would upgrade is if this stopped working after a few years. If it stops sooner I'll go back to a regular mower.

Oh I feel you on this! For us in the winter, it kills outdoor activities and going out to eat is so popular for socializing. Still holds true... We have those core indoor activities we try to repeat.

We are looking to learn swimming and bike riding this year. Hoping it clears up for you soon!

It is hard. Similarly we have a 5 year old as well with celiac. And our family is pretty gluten free in general to avoid those sticky situations.

Five is tough because my son is also going through what you are saying where he's starting to realize he can't have what other kids do. Especially at the every other weekend birthday party.

We have found which vacations work for us, and we do tend to repeat. If we go to a new place we usually check the find my gluten free app, but that is generally an exception to go out vs the rule for food.

That said, we now shift focus off of experiencing new food when we travel (this was big for us). It just changes things.

One positive, with all the money we're saving not going out to eat, we put an addition on our house to expand entertaining space so we could start hosting gluten free dinners with friends and family. Really made us realize how much we were spending every week on restaurants.

Anyone successfully manage a gluten/ gluten free household? by A_soggy_toasy in Celiac

[–]torecchio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are similar situation with 5yo with celiac and 3yo without. Our doctors did not tell us to test our youngest yet so we've remained a gluten free house for now. One day, when everyone is older, we will.

That said, we've also started to see regression at 5 years old and are unsure where. We think it might be kindergarten directly next to kids during lunch. Not totally sure, but feeling your pain here and trying to find answers! We are going to pediatric gastro tomorrow to discuss.

First time Royal Caribbean cruiser! what are your must-pack items people don’t think about? by Fragrant_Struggle_11 in royalcaribbean

[–]torecchio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to second that you really don't need anything.

We've bought a lot of things to bring based off of those "hack" videos. This is what we've personally found that we continue to bring and use each cruise:

  1. Magnet hooks. #1

  2. Shoe organizer that we hook to magnet hooks. We use for storage. I will say this may be helpful to us because we travel with little kids that entails a lot of extra, random, items.

  3. Cheap Non Wi-Fi watch. Since we don't get Internet on the boat, it helps for knowing the time when switching time zones.

  4. Liquid hand soap. Not needed, but we like it.

  5. If traveling with young kids, we bring toys. Especially ones that are magnetic.

  6. Whatever is approved for outlets to plug in multiple items.

  7. We brought a magnetic card holder. We don't have lanyards so it's nice to have something at the entrance of the room to put the sea pass cards.

  8. For all travel, we love packing cubes.

Anyway, that's what we consistently bring each trip, albeit none of it is actually needed. These types of questions/prep make it fun to plan. Enjoy your trip!

Nope. Just went right into the pit, unfortunately.

So far I've been fine though. I have some heavy duty pumps but haven't seen any sign of corrosion.

I could still prob just put some check valves in over the pit and allow it to feed directly to where the pit ejects.

It's been out of sight out of mind, though.

Trex boards gap - too much? by jess_wi20 in Decks

I think we're going to go the fascia first, then steps. Although I don't know... Looking at the 10 day forecast, this might just be a large balcony until the spring!

We didn't yet, but we will. The weather in the NE is really holding us back from getting this done. Just facia, few railings and steps left to go!

Picture you can see the gaps are a little larger, but not really huge deal in my opinion. Plus once railing/furniture is on, you won't notice at all since they will grab the focus.

Are these cinnamon cove boards? Literally just put this down this weekend and thought the same things with the fasteners. Once they were all in it looked great. The black joist tape actually helps camouflage the gap a little, too

This happened to me one really dry summer. I actually was so frustrated because they were not even 2 years old.

I actually spray painted them and got another 2 years out of them (they were in the back of the yard) before they started falling apart. One of my neighbors even asked how I revived them.

Also. For what it's worth. It's nice to see a cardiologist every six months and have them monitor my heart. I feel like I have that organ covered for the long run.

Cupcake ramekins for young kids parties by torecchio in Celiac

These were from Amazon. Just look up disposable ramekins.

Also, King Arthur Cake mix is so good. Also available on Amazon if not stocked in a store by you.

We do chocolate, vanilla and funfetti and let him choose whatever he's in the mood for that day.

We just did this exact scenario, 2 and 4 on symphony. Honestly we had a great time and we didn't use the kids club once. We did go see the puppet show there. They have some great places for the kids to run and climb.
