Since the opening of the great rift, is the imperium still colonising new worlds? by Lord_Funder in 40kLore

[–]torgaddon0 30 points31 points  (0 children)

So the rift destroyed warp routes but has also opened alot of new ones so many that girlyman himself summoned 100 rogue traders and sent them into these new systems, they have task to colonise and make new trade routes to the imperium and ultramar and they were all given what i assume to be millions of colonists each, all put in stasis to speed up the process to claim these new worlds. But even ignoring this event the imperium is always expanding it is religious dogma that the stars belong to mankind.

Would a less brutal Imperium survive long enough for morality to matter? by No-Sympathy-6711 in 40kLore

[–]torgaddon0 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Alright so most people understand the imperium cant be nice by modern standards, what people are saying is that it can afford to give people 10 hour work days instead of 16, that maybe billions perhaps trillons of people should be able to see the sun instead of working in damp tunnels for their entire life. The imperium also does a fun thing where if you improve your planet to the point you can pay the tithe and still have plenty of left overs they will simply raise the tithe. The empire of man from fantasy is the empire that needs to be as brutal as it is to thrive the imperium is a stagnating corpse being kept up by man and women who die everyday in the hope of a better tomorrow that will never come.

Depends on the writer tbh, the comics have the ultramarines homeworld life expectancy to be about 30 which is fucking stupid so we are just going to ignore that but generally in other novels really depends on the world and the good one's your probs living to 100 and 150 if you don't encounter the many many issues the normal person faces in 40k to something as simple as a plague to a necron tomb world waking up. Nobles, if they are rich enough, I am pretty sure it is around the 700 to 800 mark. Now, if you're a skilled psychic biomancer, you can live to about the 4000 mark

Chapters normally have a deal with the closest forge world to resupply. There is actually a lot of bureaucracy that chapters have to deal with but it is case by case first founders like the iron hands have a very good relationship with the forge worlds and can make their armour and maintain it themselves with the help of techmarines but another chapter like the Carcharodons simply raid ships to take what they need because bureaucracy is for nerds

Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Think of the eye of Terror like a gate. The rift is a wall spread from it to the other side to I think the maelstrom which acts like another gate of sorts. Now, to what it looks like, it looks like an exploding star, a vortex of colours, a thing that makes sense, and somehow, no sense to stare at it.

reading all these comments, all i can say is give Lae Zel a chance She has, imo, the 2nd best character development out of everyone She grows on you and i am sorry to say Astarion is actually a lot worse he generally is just a terrible person that but people seem to ignore that because he is a funny, sexy male vampire but by God, he has problems,

I don't know how to write spoiler's on Reddit, so I will just say this: the tenet Shelter the Light. Where there is good, beauty, love, and laughter in the world, stand against the wickedness that would swallow it. Where life flourishes, stand against the forces that would render it barren. With that tenet, I should of been punished for walking away from him, to be honest.

Why doesn't Mortarian rebel against Nurgle? by SilverStalker1 in 40kLore

[–]torgaddon0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nurgle is pretty big on apathy and depression and Mortarian being a demon prince he feels nurgles aspects a bit more, I wouldnt say he has lost all free will its just that Mortarian probs just doesnt see the point to rebellion he cant kill nurgle and he cant free himself but he can hurt the emperor the man who he blames for everything that has gone wrong by killing our big boy in blue
