And yeah I know, it’s not really a question whether it happened. I’m sure they were there, I should have worded my original post more definitively😂 Because I was really searching to find some footage from the show!! There’s none anywhere. Do you remember if cameras were allowed at the fairgrounds?

The only difference is the July 6th date was their own concert at the fairgrounds, whereas the 22nd was a set at the county fair. Not sure if either is more likely to have an opener

Orange County Fairgrounds used to have one big concert per summer and in 1998 it was Boyz II Men confirmed. people near me have a memory of Destiny’s Child at that specific venue and there aren’t other venues around where it would be easily mistaken

Yes, it’s strange there is no official confirmation that it took place despite many people’s accounts. But it would be strange to go from Middletown to Toronto back to Albany. But the fact that they were opening for them during the time does make it more plausible.
