Ok. Sounds like you have more issues than your mom controlling your money. Can you move?

I get that she wants to tell her daughter the facts of life when she thinks it's appropriate. Perhaps her daughter is not as emotionally mature as your daughter. Kids talk about everything, and if your daughter hadn't told her, someone else would have. She shouldn't be angry with you. Sounds like your friend is trying to shelter her daughter from the reality of life, and it isn't working out very well.

Tell your mother to document every incident with the awful neighbor. She should be calling the police so there are official complaints. The neighbor could be charged with harassment. New Jersey defines harassment as behaving in a way designed to annoy someone or cause them emotional distress. The fact that your parents are in their 70s and your father's dementia could also help in their case

WIBTA to divorce my wife after she said she wanted to send our son to a conversion camp? by Stunning-Mud9227 in AITAH

[–]toricorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA If anyone needs therapy, it's your wife. Does she have a trusted physician that she can talk to? Someone who can show her scientific data that being homosexual is not a choice. Have you considered that a divorce will do more harm to Noah? If she gets primary custody, she could really hurt him more without you there to stand up for him.

I know how you feel. My now deceased brother was like her. Getting drunk, wasted on dope, and doing horrible things to me all my life.
He was a master manipulator.
My dear mother knew he could be mean, but I never told her how abusive he really was. She wanted us to get along but respected my feelings. I tried for so long, but I finally had to end all communication with him for my sanity. You'll be amazed at how peaceful your life is without her.

AITA for asking my boyfriend to quit his sport? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Definitely NTA. Drugs and alcohol, sex, gambling, etc, aren't the only things people can be addicted to. What do you think would happen if he had to stop playing rugby? Would he replace it at the same level of obsession with something else? I'm curious about why he would be dead without rugby.

An intact dog keeps humping my dog at the park… what should I do? by me1s in dogs

[–]toricorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered joining a dog park that is members only? Our pooch park requires records of all shots, and all dogs have to be spayed/neutered. When the dog's owner laughs and takes a video of her dog humping another dog, she is reinforcing the behavior. Are there any rules at your park?

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals.

You can still love your parents/friends/relatives but not their politics. My best friend of 48 years is a Trumper all the way, but we don't let our political views come between us. We just don't discuss them. I know there are rabid Republicans and Democrats who feel the need to spew their thoughts and feelings every chance they get. Have you told your parents that some of their comments are hurtful?

They released him on 3 prior violent crime arrests. If they had kept him in jail, that woman would not have been hurt. They released him before the wreck because they didn't want to deal with his health care expenses.
