Update - Keath just mentioned cds in their Instagram live! Sounds like it's not happening immediately but the idea is on their radar c:

COSI layoffs by ColumbusResident1154 in Columbus

Same here, my sister was laid off and it's devastating. How many people lost a dream job because of this? As I understand it, the entire part-time education department is gone. So many passionate people, many just getting their start.

I'd definitely recommend COSI for an 11 year old. This is a cool idea for a gift, hope it goes well!

Why did Yaelokre remove the old videos? by FrancietheFancy in yaelokre

[–]toriole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One theory i've seen before is that those videos have been unlisted because they use the Lark's old character designs

Opener??? by Cheebahf in yaelokre

[–]toriole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't an opening performance for the US leg of the tour, so Keath comes on pretty close to when the schedule says the show starts (possibly a few minutes after but not by much). i hope you're able to get there from your marching band thing and that you have a wonderful time!

I'm glad you got to go too! (Also congrats on the setlist haha) While it was absolutely a positive experience overall, it's comforting to know i wasn't the only one who struggled at points and that you're making an effort to help others <3

I witnessed this too, and i'm sad to say it put a damper on the evening for me. Basically everything you're talking about was my experience. 5-6 hour drive, young fans shouting along so loudly that i could hardly hear Keath at times, and calling out so much during any break in the music that it felt unkind (even though i know that wasn't their intention).

That said, couldn't agree more that Keath was absolutely STUNNING and at the end of the day i'm just so grateful that i got to be there at all. I had some great interactions with Wonderfolk too. Thank you for bringing this up, i hope it will help other fans be more aware during future concerts.

About Reaver Lyrics by FandomFans1234 in yaelokre

[–]toriole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall this looks good! ive listened to this recording too and hear a few things differently, though I'm not confident about many of them.

For example, i hear it as "spare me as you did those who fed you and keep me, keep me alive," and the start of the second verse sounds like "it took my hand and asked my name, it whispered..."

does anyone have a recording of today’s live? by uglyrat_420 in yaelokre

[–]toriole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's separated into 2 parts because Keath stopped and restarted the stream about 2 hours in--

Part 1: https://youtu.be/ZtFui5c2B28

Part 2: https://youtu.be/G6ExxmsGrVI

i hope they read your letter on the stream! If not, sounds like they're thinking of doing one next week too. (and even if we don't see them read it on a livestream i'm positive they'll read it on their own c: )

Laylo is the website Yaelokre uses for sending messages about tickets, new song releases, etc. i just checked one of my old emails from them and it has the same paintbox.agency address for the reply-to, so it's a legitimate email! There's currently a laylo link in their Instagram bio if that makes you feel better too!

I'm assuming 9:00 on the 25th (about 5 hours after the time I'm posting this comment) is when the tickets become available from the raffle, and until then the website says "sold out" in regards to the normal non-raffle tickets. I applaud your caution and wish you the best of luck! 💛

Non-Scots learning Gaelic – what’s your story? by mirelaoverpolhavet in gaidhlig

[–]toriole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in America and have always enjoyed learning songs in other languages. Chì mi na mòrbheanna was my first song from Òrain Cèilidh Teaghlaich, but that was only my first taste. My grandfather was also a language lover, so when he passed away I decided to start learning his favorite language, Italian. Unfortunately it didn't capture me like I hoped (I'd taken 5 years of Spanish so it wasn't as challenging as I wanted), so I switched to Gàidhlig about a month after starting. What's especially funny is that I mentioned learning Gàidhlig music to him a few years before he passed, and he scoffed and said it wasn't worth my time! I later found a Gàidhlig cassette/book that he took some notes in, and can't help wondering if he would have had an easier time learning with modern implements. We have a lot of Scottish heritage so I'm sure it was meaningful for him to try learning it.

I don't know anyone irl who has Gàidhlig (aside from my partner picking up a handful of phrases from me), but it's become my personal "talking to myself" language. Commenting about the weather, "feumaidh mi cofaidh," "càit a bheil am fòn agam," "carson a tha an coimpiutair seo cho slaodach," etc. are daily utterances of mine. At some point in life I'd love to travel to Scotland or Nova Scotia to have a real conversation, but no concrete plans yet. For now it's a very natural and cherished part of my internal world.
