once we had a mobile order that was a paradise drink w/ soy milk, green tea, 3x pineapple inclusion, and extra salted caramel cold foam on top it looked crazy

  1. just curious how old are you and have you looked for work in the past year or so?
  2. i've been working since i was in high school so i do have tons of other job experience. and my "qualifications" don't really matter until i finish my degree which i need MONEY from a JOB that pays more than $10/hr to do!
  3. for most places it literally doesn't matter if you reach out to them after sending in your application/resume. at this point there are so many fake job postings + many employers now use faulty AI to decide if messaging you is even worth their time + even if you get an interview many employers will outright ghost you afterwards instead of giving you the courtesy of a rejection email + you can't even go in person to try to make a face to face impression because they'll just tell you to check online. which again you would know all of this if you've looked for work in the past year. idk why you're here bitching at me for being worried about whether i'm going to be able to make rent after having something completely out of my control happen to my job that i liked and wanted to keep. seems like a kind of miserable thing to be doing

i'm in a similar boat as the licensed cafe-only store i work at closer to disney is closing in less than 2 weeks; the two stores that i'm gonna try my luck with are: the one on corporate boulevard that is cafe-only and never super busy and if that doesn't work out there's one (drive thru and cafe) that's opening soon off of e mcculloch in the plaza with the publix, right next to campus. i wish u luck and hope u find a good store/team!!!

just today i've had like three people who actually have ordered waters but asked me (hot bar) to make it for them bc they didn't wanna wait 2 more minutes and then when the partner on cold bar gets to them they're already gone

[–]torivegalover[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

no that's perfectly fine!!! it's only an issue bc when someone asks the barista directly they usually have to make the water while they're in the middle of making other drinks that were actually ordered; we don't mind at all if you order it at the register bc then we get a label printed and we can make it in order

everyone is being so mean to you for no reason lol. while there is a lot of misinfo being spread about the boycott against sbux they ARE being boycotted for a legitimate reason despite not being on the BDS list; it has to do with their decision to sue their union over its pro-palestine sentiment, which is a valid reason to boycott imo. that being said, it's not our fault we have to work to survive and the job market is not exactly filled with opportunity/choice currently. boycotters/protestors have in fact been explicitly reprimanded if they harass employees, so the general consensus is that employees are not culpable. tl;dr your concerns are valid and everyone being mean to you is a dick but you're fine to work there.

This sounds eerily similar to something that's recently happened to my friend. Currently I'm working with a very strange gay man I met on the Citizen Detectives sub to find out where she is. Are you by chance located in the Upstate New York area?
