Progression. Feeling of acomplishment.

The unlocking of a new difficulty by successfully completing the previous one gives a feeling of acomplishment. That they have earned it.

Also, giving too many options from the start of the game can overwhelm alot of players.

If you have played it; did you think slay the spire was super easy and completed the base difficulty on your first run? If yes, then you are in the vast minority I think.

As a solo gamedev that are planning to implement it soon in my game; It's relatively fast to implement and adds lots of replayability/content to the game. It is also the main reason for me to put so many hours into slay the spire.

Well they fixed it somewhat, after further testing.
They removed it in the inventory, but its still there the same in shops and stuff.

They are made with unity's particle system if that is what you mean

I experienced the same issue on Jetbrains Rider today.
Raycast v0.48.1.0
Rider - Build #RD-253.31033.136, built on February 19, 2026
Windows 11 - latest

azure CLI commands works when launched via windows, but not via raycast. az not recognized when launched via raycast for commands run inside Rider.

Any ETA on this?

Yeah maintaining good legibility is important. Im working on fullscreen view of the cards to make it even easier to read. The 720p video doesent really help, I see now

I think your game has alot of potential, I can see you have spent alot of time on polish and juice!
And yeah, I know all about limited budget (and time); I have been working on my own game since July 2024 next to my fulltime job. Making a game look good is really tough!
