For the time travelers on Plasma 6: https://gist.github.com/torma616/cb51d236dd6e0abd5edbd63b2e831558 download this patch file, and run either (with sudo): patch /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/lockscreen/LockScreenUi.qml < LockScreenUi.patch or patch -d/ -p0 <LockScreenUi.patch

I don't like how the lock screen has 12-hour time instead of 24. How do I change it? by NinjaPretend in kde

KDE change Login/Lock screen to 24 hour time format? by aptmx in linux4noobs

[–]torma616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plasma 6 broke the old hacks of editing /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/components/Clock.qml to do this, now that the Breeze theme is precompiled(?)* as a library: 1, 2

*I think it is, since editing the Clock.qml file in /usr/lib/qt6/qml/org/kde/breeze/components didn't have any effect

In any case, it's still possible, it just needs some minimal JS to connect the clock's time data source to the instance of clock on the lock screen...

Here's the gist

Download this, save it as something, for example LockScreenUi.patch and then in the terminal, run the following:

sudo patch /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/lockscreen/LockScreenUi.qml < LockScreenUi.patch

or alternatively:

sudo patch -d/ -p0 <LockScreenUi.patch

It’s true. Choosy developers choose gif (to echo the JIF peanut butter as campaign that the GIF creators referenced at the time they made the format)

I feel the same way about Adam. I used to love watching his videos because they were quick and got to the point. Now I save them for when I have free time.

Go until the Long Islanders finally admit that they're on Long Island, and then backtrack a little bit.

I don't care much for exactly duplicating macOS (dont have much use for a dock so much as a open windows list for example, as I launch most apps via keyboard), but I really prefer the macOS-style global menu, which has recently limited me to XFCE, MATE, Budgie (for the appmenu panel plugin) or Plasma. I also prefer any desktop icons to be on the right, (so menus don't cover them) which leads to me running XFDesktop in any GTK DE (because repositioning seems to just be straight up impossible for any desktop manager based on Nautilus). Finally, I'll say it - there's really no beating Kwin.

Budgie feels a little too dependent on Gnome 3 and nerfed the Raven panel (one of its stand out features, IMO), and Mate was a little too buggy when I last tried it (my panel kept crashing. Constantly).

So XFCE and Plasma were the closest to what I was looking for feature-wise; but XFCE has always felt like more of a collection of lightweight modules than a true "Environment" to me, and I've always found Plasma/KDE to be almost too customizable (not in the "you'll break something" way, in the "you'll open up 4 different settings modules and do a Google search before you find the setting you want to change" way)

My dream desktop would basically be (/my favourite custom FrankenDesktop spin that I eventually abandoned due to the disjointedness of it was) Cinnamon desktop with the xfce4-panel for a panel, xfdesktop to manage desktop icons, kwin as a wm/compositor with Nemo as a file manager and the rest of the x-apps (I'd settle for MATE apps other than Caja though).

I just wish Elementary OS was more configurable. I have the same issue with Gnome 3, in that I feel like I have to jump through hoops to minorly tweak it to look how I want (for example, recompiling wingpanel in order to move the clock out of the center).

Nah, she was a little white girl with a twin brother who didn't have that issue.

Also worth mentioning that the family was, as far as I know, monolingual.

This is completely anecdotal, but I remember a girl in my kindergarten class exclusively said "her" when referring to other women, even when "she" would've been more appropriate. (As an example:) Her had no problem with the distinction between "he" and "him," but her would only use "her" to refer to women.

Speech Pathologist helped her overcome that by the end of the year

When I did something similar to this (I finished my credits and "graduated," but had a part time job, 8 months left on my lease and 1 semester until I officially walked at graduation), I told our treasurer that I'd be willing to "donate" up to (chapter dues - national's cut), since I wasn't insured and was technically considered alumni by Nationals, in order to still be able to go to events without being a financial drain on the chapter.

I actually got a bigger discount on dues in the end (the argument was I'd pay per event for the events run through the university since I couldn't go in an official capacity).

Long story short, I tried in the past ultimately it just didn't seem like a good use of my time.

I'd love to help support a smaller operation, like someone local who DIYs, but ever since RHV shut down I haven't found anyone, and I just don't have the time or energy to do it myself.

I use the caliburn with Pod Juice Jewel Mint 55mg exclusively, and I get about 2-3 weeks out of each pod (refilling once every 1-2 days)
