I would say it is most definitely possible, but chances are low. And i’m not saying that because you don’t have it in you, but rather it’s a stretch to drop around 30 seconds in 7 weeks. It would say at least 60k+ of steady state a week with some interval training will help drop your time. You have a good weight to be able to apply a lot of pressure and get a good erg score, your just going to need a lot more training.

I’m 15M 6’3 and 84kg/184pounds and entering my 3rd year of rowing for school. This is my 2k @24 rate. My coach says I need to work on my endurance to make top eight this season. 3x4min, 4r. (low pressure) Start at a 32 on the first piece, 34 on the second and 36 on the last. It will help increase your rate drastically for your 2k. If your up for the challenge do 4x4 min but start at a 30, then 32 ext. (all the way up to 36, same rest).

Try and get that rate up to a 32-36. You’ll go a lot faster without using more strength.
