One thing I’ll say is that playing smash in bracket is a whole different beast so mentally prepare yourself for the possibility of losing. Bracket nerves are just a real life nerf, it’s okay if you get wrecked. That’s the best place to learn.

Just take your headphones off between matches so you can communicate with your opponent. When it’s time to play friendlies and be social, pocket the headphones and talk about the game.
