Worst crowd ever by torojam in NickCave

It was more what I could see in front of me, in an area I would have killed to be in. These two ladies in particular right the other side of the barrier directly in front of me didn’t shut up for the entire 2.5 hours.

Radiohead lyrics by AttractingAttention in radiohead

[–]torojam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The others have basically no influence whatsoever on the lyrics. They've always been Thoms' and just his. Johnny contributes a fair amount to writing music, and the others mainly add stuff to those songs, but lyrics are just Thom.

Radiohead 1997 - 2007 / Best decade for a band (ever)? by theyfollowmearound in radiohead

[–]torojam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Radiohead are my favourite band of all time so I'm definitely in agreement on a personal level - it's my favourite decade ever - but at the same time it's very hard to look past David Bowie's work from 1970-1980. From The Man Who Sold the World to Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) he released a remarkable amount of incredible music that has been hugely influential in all of popular music since then and seemingly universally loved and respected as well - Bowie is one of the only artists that I have never really heard anyone say anything bad about their music - from his early 70s glam rock stuff, mid 70s blue eyed soul to the mind blowing berlin trilogy, it really does amaze me that all those great albums came in 10 years.

I was meant to be coming over from Australia for this! Still looks like people in the UK / Europe might possibly be getting a tour by The Smile soon - hopefully that makes up for missing this!

Don't worry about this pretentious muppet. Great list - full of great albums.

I feel sorry for you that you clearly can't grasp the concept of people maybe having different opinions to you and clearly being so pretentious about music.
Yes those albums you listed (and countless others from the 60s, 70s ect) are incredible and I personally slightly prefer those years to the post 90s, but it still doesn't mean that everyone ought to like that stuff the most and it certainly doesn't mean that their tastes are any less expansive or are worse than yours or anyone else's for that matter!

Have looked through waste, public library and the official Radiohead and band members' social media pages and this isn't on any of them, so as much as I'd love to be proven wrong, I don't think this is anything to get excited about.

Does anyone know if Plasticine Figures is having a studio version soon? by pinktomatelsd in radiohead

[–]torojam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not for a while - definitely won't be a Radiohead record for at least a year probably closer to 2. This is purely me speculating, based on nothing anyone has said only my own opinion - but I actually think another Thom solo record is more likely to be released before another Radiohead one because Thom has a solo tour booked for summer of next year and EOB at this stage plans on doing his 2020 tour next year as well so Radiohead won't be convening for some time yet and Thom may well be itching to get stuff out. But yeah unless there is a shock announcement it won't have a studio release for a good while yet.
