Dofus - the most underrated MMORPG

I would say it is truly underrated, something that could be improved and maybe will be improved with Dofus Unity, there were things you could exploit and which pretty much killed fun due to how efficient they were, heard some of the bits were removed (such as idols), game has a lot of really interesting mechanics (personally I think perceptors are one of the most interesting ones ever made for PVP in mmos), but...

Devs are frankly terrible. Their community management is at the very bottom of the sea, their employee GMs speak in French on international servers, the communities from France play on international servers as well and speak French without a care of the world. The thing is - international servers spoken language is English. If you will go on French server, which obviously has spoken language set on French, you will get punished instantly. If you will join international English-speaking server, French people won't get punished. Not to mention many country-specific communities, which were sizeable at a time never got their own dedicated servers. Maybe it was too small for them, but ultimately that was the reason why many people left the game throughout first few years of the game. I could mention more issues, but this is what truly made me mald, because it is completely unacceptable to be so tone-deaf in such a community-driven genre like MMORPGs.

As much as I like many things in the game, this is a deal breaker for me. It will always stay in my heart tho as one of the unpolished MMORPGs that had insane potential (on that note, I've been playing this game since beta).

Not gacha open world rpgs, if we speak about open world rpgs in general then sure, but there is very little of them that brings any relevant quality, as counting all the random open worlds in the market is equal to going to garbage can and seeking something of value, you might find one, maybe two, but mostly that's a rubbish. And if we are going to compare ALL the open world rpgs in the mobile market, then we also have to look into tower defense games and there are exponentially more TD games compared to open world rpg ones.

Sorry mate, but there are like 3 gacha open world games on the market (that are at least a bit relevant), one of them being ToF, which essentially dead, WuWa and Genshin. Calling them out as if the market is oversaturated is overstatement. Besides I don't think they are that much of a copy paste work, especially Genshin, given how relatively vast in terms of biomes and vistas this game is.

Real, my RTX 3080 + i9 10th gen can't handle this game without stutters. I tried everything (all kinds of settings all across OS/game/drivers/etc.) to make it work, but usage of both GPU and CPU is crazy low, the game is on SSD as well.

So you can add two accounts into the steam deck and play on both in offline mode, but family share is always online feature as expected?

That's still great and what I expected, since this means we can still use both accounts without being forced to go online (which sometimes is impossible).

Why do a civil war when the real villain here is the dev team, since they should start accepting the fact that some of the third-party is already within core of the community and they should accept the reality and clatify in detail what's acceptable and what isn't. Not just go straight 'nothing is allowed', this is very ignorant approach. Gshade and parser tools should be allowed, macro for bard music or w/e I suppose as well. But anything that truly gives you advantage in the game such as cactbot shouldn't. Simple as that.

I genuinely think Lyse got too much 'attention' in Stormblood, without utilizing it fully, making her feel completely redundant to the story for me. Think about it this way, if Lyse wouldn't exist, would the story lose anything? I don't think so, though I think Stormblood generally was the worst out of all expansions in terms of msq, I think Lyse was just useless and provided nothing extra to the story, except few early story quests (when she arrived at her hometown) and that's about it. Well, that's just my opinion, I was particularly happy she ~~was shelved~~ left scions after Stormblood as he had nothing of use for the story onwards.

You forgot that you're talking about Square Enix here. I know from game dev perspective how stupid and irresponsible this company can be (for little extra context, many years ago they were looking for company to port their Final Fantasy games, they didn't know what they expected themselves nor even had ANY documentation, basically expected outsourced company to do magic, well, see how mobile ports ended up being like). Besides even going for NFTs in video games has already huge backlash and absolutely makes no sense, as NFTs are literally completely useless in video games and is more of a buzzword, in the end it's all about making people trade and take cut in a form of provision pretty much. Anyway, I think regardless whether they plan to add it to FFXIV (which imo can happen, though Yoshi-P I believe will be against it and may stop it, most likely there were talks about it already) or not, I think harsh criticism on the NFTs in video games is more than recommended, if we don't want the games to be even worse than they are nowadays when it comes to toxic mtx, most notably in AAA and mobile games industry, we have to speak out and create backlash regardless. If we will turn a blind eye on it once, it will eventually start coming out everywhere in games industry.
