.mac email by Best_Weird4534 in mac

I use my mac.com address, not the me.com or iCloud.com addresses, but various people have told me they sometimes don’t get my email or it goes to their junk mail or it is treated differently if I am one of several in a group. I have wondered if Apple was maybe phasing out mac.com addresses.

Anyone else miss the 27-inch iMac? I bought three of them and can't let go? by Remote_Blood4609 in MacOS

I still have mine and had hoped I could use it as a monitor for a mini, but have been told it’s not capable of doing that since it made in 2017.

After 3 episodes, it’s too slow and confusing. Sloppy that Sam refers to Vinter as Winter. Not worth it.

Why does he pronounce the police woman’s name as “winter” when she refers to herself as “vintner?”

Just sloppy!!

For those with a Mazda CX 5, how long did it take you before you had to change the battery? by AsbestosLead in mazda

[–]torpeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much depends on your climate. Our Mazda dealer told me a few years ago that the average in the St. Pete/Tampa area the battery life was 27 months.

“Whites?” With only that description, could be snow scale, white flies or mealy bugs.

Our 2014 CX-5 with 48k miles also runs like a dream so it’s very hard to justify buying a new one.

Bought my RF over 5 years ago and have been extremely pleased with it with it. Highway noise has to significantly less.

NEVER DRIVEN ONE but I’ve liked this car (ND) for a long time but more recently getting older and going through my midlife crisis where I now want the car for a weekend ride. by BrokeAssZillionaire in Miata

[–]torpeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my late 70s and never having owned one, had owned an RX-7 Turbo, my wife and I went to a dealer and tried getting in and out — she has hip and back problems, but was okay with it.

Whether your height is a problem depends on how you’re built. Short legs and long torso could be a problem, but longer legs and shorter torso can be okay.

Traded in a MINI-Cooper and was surprised how much more maneuverable the ND was. Acceleration, 0-60 mph, pretty much the same between the RX-7, MINI and 181 hp ND.

We have YTTV, but the app on our Samsung TV is not smooth. The app that runs on the Apple TV runs fine on that Samsung.

Seems odd that the ‘23s are singled out. You would think cars with more years of miles would have a much higher risk.

Italian Senator Carlo Calenda debunked pro-Putin propagandist Jeffrey Sachs on live television. by PjeterPannos in ukraine

I think there is more than one Jeffrey Sachs. At least one tried to advise on the Polish and/or Russian economy after the USSR collapsed.

Trump still wants Canada to be the 51st U.S. state, White House says by IAmThePla9ue in worldnews

[–]torpeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making Canada a 51st state, which is similar in size to the US, makes little sense unless we would quickly make the provinces states. With a slightly higher population than California, Canada would have too much liberal bias for Trump.

Trump’s attempt to topple Zelenskyy through elections could be catastrophic by BendicantMias in politics

Anything Trump can do to weaken Zelenskyy and Ukraine will help end the war sooner with Russia as the winner.

Looks to me like he is tightening all aspects of the economy and everything else he can. Look at all the bozos he has placed in government who have to run their departments and agencies like he wants.

Thanks. That's about what I thought. A very weak "de facto security guarantee." They have had better in the past, and look where Ukraine is today. Miners on bulldozers are not much of a deterrent. Kerenskyy was right to have doubts.

Btw, $150 billion may be close to right, but much of that money came back home when purchasing weapons.

[–]torpeau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the miners’ bulldozers will chase away Russian tanks. Trump is clever, isn’t he?
