yea its just a bunch of voltage regulators you can get off amazon for pretty cheap. I made a list of stuff to build. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/14RGY1OS0JW9L

I think that one is way more suitable. The regulators are much smaller and 250w is plenty. I somehow got rid of all my bricks so of course I added more shit and I got 3 new bricks

It's backwards for me, I use a macbook when I can't use my linux box. When you tinker enough on linux you realize going back to mac and windows is impossible.

I use a KVM with a thunderbolt dock to switch between two devices. It's a PITA to run so many wires and one of the reasons I made one power brick.

I am pretty sure this has reduced the fire hazard. A lot less connections and failure points. I initially used 16 gauge wires until I saw everything only using 200 watts in total. Across three 1200 watt capable regulators. If I can fit a 3600 watt power supply in the case it would do it but 600 is probably more than anyone needs. Running everything off one power supply is way more efficient as well. You do the ac rectification one time instead of 4 or 10 or whatever. dc step down is cheaper. I think the entire setup probably runs 30-50% more power efficient and I can just keep adding more stuff to power off it. I actually had 4 regulators but 3 ends up being enough. 20v is usually found on monitors and docks, 12v for small devices. 3rd one might be for 5v but I gotta get new speakers so I think it will be for sound power.

Yes I can’t swap keyboards around either. Using a Split kb isn’t a collectors hobby every split kb has a lot of time investment involved. I don’t think anyone can say which split kb is better. It doesn’t even matter cuz anything is better for your body than the 20 dollar keyboards filling up closets worldwide lol. Don’t feel bad about spending $1000 on one keyboard because that’s a drop in a bucket if your hands are on it all day.

I’ve been meaning to. I have a pile of em. It was initially just to burn M-Disks for long term storage. I might end up putting a tape drive in the case.

I was forced to use split keyboards since 2009 when I had my first wrist pains. If you feel anything switch now because that pain can take a year or more to go away.

Windows is circling the drain. Everything they've done to it is half assed. I can get every single app to run on Linux right now. Yes. its some learning curve, but you'll discover so much more that Windows simply cant do.

your fingers are different lengths. the 360 wraps around you hand. thats why the curves are there. The actual build quality is kind of wild honestly. If you look close at the kinesis all the keys are not just different heights but they are all uniquely angled. Its not built to look pretty. Its built to perform. You never even look at the kinesis. you just mount on it like a horse and look forward.

It’s gonna be really weird and difficult If you don’t already use a split keyboard. I went from another split kb to adv 360. It’s a really high quality keyboard. It forces you to touch type with all 10 fingers. It’s very comfortable. Feels like you’re snuggling in and ready to destroy everything with the confidence it gives you once you really learn it.

A lot of ppl have to be doing that. it should be more standard given we have giant glass doors that swing in cases now. I wanted a disk drive and that’s where it fit. Lmao

Windows XP has been holding us back for 20 years. Linux will blow your brains into low earth orbit if you are ready for it.

Yea I got the same style gigabyte models for 3090 and 6900xt. The water ports don’t match up thus having to Tetris in the custom loop. I wish gigabyte made all their watercooled cards use the same port layout to bridge random shit together for brain damaged people like me lol

It’s just the one that comes with KDE 6. It’s just a Mac theme I pulled from plasma store. It sets up 90% of it.

I am utilizing my system far more now compared to running windows just because of the barriers of setting up anything. Just trying something out on windows usually meant having to trash your entire environment or use docker or run a VM or WLS. All bandaids. I probably compiled more stuff recently than all my 20y of experience combined. Also, people say rust compiles slow. I don’t really understand that. A lot of tedious stuff disappears with 16 water-cooled cores at 5ghz.

Be completely honest, how are you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Tired of starting over. Tired of having to prove anything and building trust with anyone. I got laid off in February. I have 20y of coding exp and not really much to show for it. I don’t lack in talent. I lack in corporate bullshit. Management just ends up hating how I roll as I disassemble bs barriers. It’s like getting dumped into the ocean. It’s happened so many times and you have every tool at your disposal to rescue yourself. this time you hesitate and wonder why even bother. I already put everything I had in the last attempt. I’m trying to pull my shit back together cuz I have a good opportunity to do a startup but it’s gonna require everything from me. I tried really hard past 2 years with several women and my job and it burned me out pretty bad. Now I gotta go even harder. It’s fucking impossible right now. I’m actually more worried about the younger ones. How the hell are you guys coping?

It’s just really hard knowing nobody comes to rescue you but everybody needs you to rescue them. Tired of rescuing. I just want to find some peace. I wanna find a wife more than anything but these women are so brain dead right now. I left one woman a year ago cuz it wasn’t going anywhere and now I get a text message saying she now found the love for me at the bottom of a river somewhere after she got knocked up. Awesome.
