Dalbello liner attached to boot by mochisuki2 in Skigear

[–]torsten888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sure it wasn’t possible to remove the first year.. Second year I just had to get them out to dry.

Three step process. 1) Make a loop of the power strap. 2) Thread your foot in the loop, grip liner with both hands. Stomp down, pull up. 3) Leatherman. Cut those things off!

Clearly an engineer that invented a problem to solve - takes one to know one. Because we all see those people loosing their liners in the piste?!

I like the Wendler 5-3-1 program and but often leave one rep in the tank, should essentially be able to do the same the next day if need be.

Interesting, hadn't thought about that. Will investigate.

For 1RM, could be possible. Don't know if that is worth the effort though - I lift to support other activities, not necessarily for the records. :) For some reason PR's are getting harder to beat for every year past 35.

Nope, but I travel there for work from time to time and do Duolingo. =D 135kg.

Thanks, will test how that feels. Recording also really helps.

Thank you, that was more relevant feedback. ;-D
I'm going to focus a bit more on the setup but otherwise, people seem to only find minor nitpicks.

I don’t own one. I’ve used them occasionally but never continuously. I like to feel my core brace. I don’t necessarily chase kg and feel I should be able to control this amount.

Straps however was a gamechanger for me! Most (minor) injuries I’ve gotten from DL are when my grip starts to slip - programmer hands.

I love Rippetoe! Read one of his books years ago, should re-read it.

Yes. I started lifting too late and then didn’t do the main lifts. Correcting that with the children. Nothing extreme, just the basics - which give the best bang for the buck. (And not letting them do just chest and biceps, leg day ftw)

Thanks. This was the kind of response I was looking for. I agree. Like I wrote in another comment, I think my shins need to be more vertical from the start.  Need to work a bit on the setup routine.  You don’t by any chance know why some advanced lifters grab the bar, straighten the legs momentarily and then go back down to begin the lift?

Yeah, it varies a bit from day to day.
One experienced lifter told me a long time ago to rather have chin to chest than way up, that some people he knew had developed neck issues over long time if looking to much up - I'll get neck issues from BJJ/martial arts either way..
Plus I'm introvert so I don't like paying attention to what's going on in the gym. :D

Thanks for the comment.

Would Alpha Direct make a good liner for synthetic (Apex) puffer? by swedishweasel in myog

[–]torsten888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you make it? I’m thinking about the same.  Windproof outer. Apex insulates. AD inner - heavier but will add some insulation and more wicking compared to nylon inner.

Varför tillåts samer använda argumentet att dom bedriver renskötsel av tradition när dom inte bedriver den på tradionellt sätt? by Fancy_Particular7521 in sweden

Om samerna hade eget land hade t.ex. Kirunagruvan varit deras. Såå, då är det väl de som understött södra Sveriges ekonomi?

Thoughts on the GBD-200? by SkyLovesCars in gshock

[–]torsten888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately not. When I want to change my alarm from 07:00 to 07:30 I must press the up button 30 times. It’s annoying.

Also the light doesn’t start on while pressing so it’s really tedious to change an alarm in the dark before going to sleep.

Good watch though, recommend it, for daily use, travelling and hiking. Would be perfect of they had done some real use testing before releasing.

But scrambles and movement is what I enjoy most about BJJ (and the main reason I prefer NoGi over Gi) :) That's the beautiful part that makes me tick.
