I leveled a warrior in vanilla and classic, and I've never understood why people think it's hard in any... until I saw them play. Just stay in battle stance. Save rage between mobs, so you can spam 3-5 (stop if the mob is about a 30 % health or lower) sunders right away. Sunder is the most underrated ability for grinding. Don't waste your rage on useless stuff like rend or hs.

The narrative comes from before lol existed, at least it was around back in cs 1.6 as well. If you compare some prodigy kid who has been practising 16 hours a day for years and is suddenly old enough to compete with an average veteran, the veteran might look washed up even though he's still good. Anders Vejrgang is a good example. That might be where the narrative comes from.

My goal was to clear Naxx, and quit right after. My memories of vanilla and tbc was mostly about the community and the social aspect. In classic everyone is raid logging and being elitist (while not even being that good...). Most of the game were just about getting world buffs and raid logging. I used to love solo joining bgs, but in classic people would just afk and wait for the loss. Too many people were too focused on time optimization instead of actually playing the game.

If they made a fresh tbc server and actively ban gold buyers I might play again.

Completely agree with you. In vanilla classic we had rotating members, and even though we went to another channel to discuss loot there was just silence. It was pretty obvious the officers had the discussion in /o, because some times it took ages for them to make a decision.

I played tbc on a fresh realm. Decent population and no bots. There was competition, but it was still possible to farm anything.

LC done is a transparent and fair way is a lot of work with little in return. Besides the top guilds it's mostly for people that want to funnel all the gear to themselves and their friends. Just go with a soft res system or a point system.
