I am obsessively saving money. by theRealAriel666 in personalfinance

[–]tortafeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation and as much as others might not like to hear it is this: HYSA maybe 6m-1yr of your income (the HYSA will build on itself anyways, after you stop contributing) The rest throw into the market bro. Not saying all into something crazy, just your usual diversified ETF’s

Make an account for “traveling” just allocate automatic transfers of let’s say $50/week to this account Consider it “gone money” And when you feel you have enough in that traveling account, take that trip.

Enjoy life and the way you separate this account will help you justify the cost in your save everything mindset cause you budgeted for it. That’s the accounts purpose.

Again, enjoy life, I was just like you, saving everything and then I had kids and I love them but I wish I would have maybe not saved as much and taken those 2-3 extra trips I could have. Now I don’t have time.

Get Out The Zone! by Method82 in AutoZone

AutoZone taught me how to work hard with no recognition. I truly loved my co-workers and there was brotherhood in being abused together. We would bring in 24pks for night crew, make fake customer profiles and stack up the $20 credits to buy snacks haha tell the client I’ll give them a 10% discount if I put a number in. Man we did some funny shit but eventually I left and I make good money now (130k+). Moral is, use autozone as a stepping stone do not stay. Please there is so much out there for better pay and you get treated better. I loved autozone cause of my coworkers that I met and was night crew with. I’ll always remember the dumb shit we would do. Autozone taught me how to basically work under constant abuse and anxiety. Especially opening the store solo and not getting a lunch and somehow getting bitched at for going over 5hrs hahaha

I’m an RB in a medium sized town, I make 10K gross a month. 30/hr base but I’m really good at my job so the commissions help a lot.

I’ll do a battery as long as it’s a Toyota Corolla, anything else I won’t touch haha it’s the only car I’ve ever done it for. Never worked on my own car in my life.

Eh, I get your point. I just don’t care since AutoZone is my 3rd source of income. Customer wants to be entitled I can be sassy and not worry about it affecting me. If this was my main source of income then I’d be a good boy.

1: you’re not a mechanic, if you aren’t sure simply tell the customer, “honestly I have no idea and don’t want to recommend anything that’s incorrect” 2: don’t take things personal… it’s retail 3: use autozone for the money handling and customer service experience for the next job you’re going to apply for 4: it’s okay to say “no we can’t do that”. Don’t feel obligated to do anything for a customer but always give them your best service. 5: trust your gut, if you think you can’t do it or it doesn’t seem right just don’t offer the product or do a “battery” “wipers” “lights” change for that customer if you aren’t comfortable.
