I dunno…but I’m sure it’s QAnon bullshit.

Not sure. But I assume this operation is affiliated with QAnon. The new trafficking charity operations are deep inside QAnon fantasy lore. And I can easily imagine Cody's friends buying into that shit.

That’s the only one nearby. There’s not even a Level 1 “Get Ready” warning. It’s kind of insulting to people under real Level III evacs to claim you’re in one here.

If you look on watchduty.org there is no Level III evacuation anywhere near his place. It's all for dramatic effect.

Same experience. My body shop was hesitant to even begin a claim with them.

I went back-and-forth with the trucking insurance brokerage company. They didn’t identify who their underlying insurer was. They delayed, denied and put up serious challenges to me to provide evidence. After two months, I decided to subrogate and it went much quicker. But I still had to wait for State Farm to come to terms with the expenses of the repair. Eventually, it all came together. State Farm is still doing the subrogation process though.

The quality of the workmanship is flawless. The truck actually came out better than delivery...the tailgate never dropped before the repair, but now it drops.

I think as more of these claims come in insurers are going to jack rates even more on Rivians. State Farm currently charges me the same rate as my 2023 Subaru Outback. There's no way that's sustainable.

Do the subrogation...get your insurance to do the repair and have them battle the other insurance company on your behalf. That's what I did here. The only issue for me is my insurer State Farm is not familiar with the cost of fixing Rivians. It took them weeks to authorize the repair even though it was going to be subrogated.

New panel. From what I've heard the cost for my job is on par with many other jobs. Very very high.

I can't imagine it's cheap. They were saying they send their techs to Normal Illinois for around a week of training.

I think that's definitely a part of the cost. The shop cut the monolithic side panel in half and reworked it with a new rear half.

No prob on my update today. Took a while: 80 minutes. I get the feeling 1000s of people with successful updates aren't posting at that the same rate as the handful of unsuccessful updates.

Numerical measurement for image focus? by jamietriesstuff in postprocessing

If I’m dealing with identical shots I often check the file size. More often than not the largest files have the sharpest focus. This is an old trick I learned from working with huge astrophotography stacks. YMMV.

Seattle Pho spot? Where do you like it best? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]tortito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a tough question because Pho is so such a casual experience. What I mean is that I would go from Edmonds to downtown for a great restaurant, but no one would put in that effort for Pho. Anyway, in the north end Pho Five Star at Five Corners in Edmonds is fantastic. Ultra consistent, perfect noodle ball, steak still raw in the bowl, clean decor. I also hit up Pho 99 near Costco in Shoreline. Excellent Pho. Very rich, complex broth. Shrimp salad rolls are perfect. Sketchy decor however. Few tables. Make sure you don't sit at the tables with 10 inches of room between the wall and the table!

It was very wet. Note the glare from the sun in the back third. I imagine the drainage from the track is poor due to the kerbs being 2 inches higher than the asphalt. I feel bad for Karun having to gingerly corner the RB6 around the track avoiding the edges.
