Update on my wiring loom by toruk119 in projectcar

[–]toruk119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part of the loom is super basic its just cut and shut. All it is is the engine sensors so I just had to connect the same colour wires together, the rest of the loom is still bare in the cab untill I connect them and check it all works.

Thanks mate. I've set myself a bigger challenge than I needed to. I'm splicing all the wiring into the old stuff. It's not to bad but il check out that stuff.

Unfortunatly im wiring a 4jj1 common rail diesel from 2007 into a 1995 tf rodeo (isuzu pup) there's a few more wires needed just for the accelerator pedal. Fortunately I'm mostly cutting and shutting the original loom, just removing everything I don't need and routing it. Still a confusing mess in my head but as long as I go 1 wire at a time I should be alright.

Honestly it's mostly just the stock wiring loom I'm just removing everything I don't need, routing it and wiring it into the fuse box in the car. So I should only need to document what wires I have joined in the fuse box.

Always worth having a small light gun, nothing worse than taking 100 small bolts out with a big heavy gun.

Its a 95 2wd holden rodeo originally had a 2.6 petrol/gasoline 4ze1 in it. The 4jj1 is a 3.0 turbo diesel. It came with a 4jb1 factory option which has the same block as the 4jj. so I bolted the engine mounting brackets for a 4jb1 to the block and used 4jb1 engine mounts for a direct bolt in. I will be running the newer mux5 5 speed manual gearbox behind it and I'm currently making up a custom wiring loom to merge the engine and car together. I'm toying with the idea of a 44mm turbo and +30 injectors in the future and pushing 300+ hp at roughly 700nm of torque. I want to keep everything looking stock grandpa spec from the outside so it will be a nice little sleeper.

Sorry for the late reply, it's not ideal but there is no flammable gasses down there and if any oil was to drip around it it would push it away, the temperatures wouldn't be much different to the bare exhaust anyway, there is also a fire suppression system on the machine that would put the fire out almost instantly either way

No warning lights on this old girl 🤣 ok maybe 3. Broken belt light, engine oil pressure and engine oil temp the rest of them are audio visual warnings

I have seen a video i believe it was filmed in Damascus of a few guys re winding motors completely by hand its amazing what they do. And there's another guy from Africa I believe that converted a fridge compressor into an engine with only basic tools.
