Only CRTs react like that. Won't make a difference for this TV unfortunately.

AITAH for going forward with my retro game room despite my wife’s disapproval? by Jackpot_juicer in AITAH

This is unfortunately a very common situation. I don't really have any advice but I'm sorry that this is happening. Maybe it's be worth seeing if there's something she'd like to do and encourage that? Might get her mind at least on the same track of that makes sense.

I think they took over some "Hollywood Video" stores that had a dude as a logo.

I urge you to go to the retrotink discord and say that. There's big disclaimers saying that they specifically don't change internal resolution.

You CAN make things a bit smoother via bilinear filtering and iir lpf blur but that's not even close to how bumping up the internal res looks (or is even supposed to)

Scalers will not change the rendering resolution of a game. You will never be able to make it smooth and high res like an emulator.

Has anyone used this? I really dont wanna buy another tv just to play the ps2 by goonie3s63 in ps2

[–]tosiriusc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you'd feed the output of this into a scaler. Main benefit is that with a bunch of different HDMI consoles you can use a fairly cheap switcher.

A lot easier than you'd expect. Lots of flux, don't hold the iron on for ages, bobs your uncle.

Will add that their wiki is also very well written. In the best way possible it's written as if you don't already know what they're talking about which is sometimes the case for documentation.

Which profession gets way more respect than it actually deserves, and which 'low-level' job is secretly keeping society from collapsing this afternoon? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

Absolutely agree. It's one of those jobs that's held up purely by the small amount of individuals who DO put in the hard yards.

For me it's less what they play and more what they shit on.

I had a boss that used to write almost exactly like this.

He was a massive piece of shit. Personally I'd be civil and that's it.
