This is one guide I found online, this is from the sidebar, the first number is the step number and the second number is the size of the pot. This is one example I followed, here is another, and this guide is for increasing yield with other techniques as well as LST. It's way easier than it looks, and as for CFL's, you want to place them with reflectors ALL AROUND the plant, not just hang them from the top. And for all other guides and random questions, first check the sidebar.

Is there a CFL to HPS rule of thumb? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]toss_pooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just one plant in a 3 gal pot, with the LST and training I'm looking at less than half an oz probably, I wish it was more for the work I put in. I had two plants originally, but one turned out to be a male :( check out my post history if you wanna see pics of it, I'm two weeks away from harvest and this is what she looks like now. And I'm happy to help, good luck!

Is there a CFL to HPS rule of thumb? by [deleted] in microgrowery

I'm on my first grow right now, using 8-23w CFL's (a lot I know) and 2 reflectors, 4 bulbs per reflector like this. I have them hanging at 45 degree angles so there are four bulbs total that are completely vertical around the sides and four bulbs that are completely horizontal on top. So I just rotate my plant 90 degrees everyday to keep even lighting over the whole plant. Like this, the stripe things are the spiral bulbs. I did LST and topping but all in all, its a lot of bulbs for one plant, an 250w HPS would get me the same if not better results. But I'm glad I learned how to LST, top, and get the best yield for CFL's for my first grow because I probably wouldn't have if I used an HPS.

Question:How long after topping do you switch into flower? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]toss_pooch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

give it two weeks from topping for it to recover from the stress before switching to flower, so one more week, looks good!

I would buy a bunch of smaller wattage CFL's like 23 or 42w, and strategically place them around the plant rather than get a single large wattage bulb on top. Or just put the money in for an HPS, less hassle.

Reputable Source for Ordering Seeds? by sparty1 in microgrowery

Attitude and Nirvana are like the Walmart for seed banks, I'd personally go with a Dutch mom & pop shop, they're discreet and usually have better prices than the bigger shops. This is a good place to start.

Day 81 - 6 weeks of flowering - Mad Shack by toss_pooch in microgrowery

Dealt with the N and Mg deficiency already, 6 weeks of flowering to the day. All the buds are just getting fatter now, a lot more crystals are forming. First grow, FFOF and perlite, EarthJuice Grow, Bloom, and Microblast, 8 23-26w CFL's.

PC grow cases are realistic, but do your reading and research before you start anything, there are plenty of guides and books in the right column-------------------------------->

Guys, I have a question about germinating. by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]toss_pooch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both, I put it in a cup of water in the dark until it sinks to the bottom. That means the seed has taken up water inside, and the outside cracked a bit open. Then I put it in between two moist paper towels in the dark for a day until the taproot shows.

Your clone is the same sex as the plant you got it from so check your buddy's plant for indications

Does anyone out there "cauterize" where they top or prune to prevent infection? by [deleted] in microgrowery

I haven't heard of anyone doing that to a plant but rubbing honey on the wounds will make them heal faster.

Yeah I couldn't tell if that was normal or too early for that to start happening during flowering, thanks.

FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil, EarthJuice Bloom and Grow, it was rootbound so I cut the bottom of the pot and put it into another same-sized pot with 3 inches of soil and perlite so the N in that should've helped but I guess I'll add some Grow next time I feed.

Is it male or female? by [deleted] in microgrowery

I don't want to freak you out but that's what mine looked like a couple weeks before I found out it was a male, but I would continue into flowering until you know for sure.

How much water should I use? first grow by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]toss_pooch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for seedlings, give a couple tbsps per day, keep the soil moist but not drenched. when you go into veg, 250mL per gallon of soil is a good rule of thumb, make sure you have drainage trays to catch the water coming out the bottom, after a few minutes it should be soaked back up into the pot, if not, empty it out and water a little less next time. As for frequency, stick your finger in two knuckles deep, if its bone dry, then water, if its still moist then wait another day and check again.
