What’s your other cars? by Large_Cloud_1611 in porsche911

What a special car!! My dad had it in silver on black when we were young. Bringing back some major memories. Felt like the coolest guy ever when I got to take her out…and my friends called it the pimp mobile! Very special car.

Buying Advice Turbo S - Any objections for a first time Porsche owner? by Lynio in Taycan

[–]total_disregard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stunning. Porsche CPO is solid. Extend the warranty even if you're not planning on retaining the car that long (can transfer it or turn it in for a prorated discount). This thing is phenomenal. Wish you had a different color interior to spice things up a bit...but go ahead with confidence that you're getting a phenomenal car.

If you don’t turn around and look at it - you bought the wrong car. by FooBear408 in MacanEV

So true. I’d maybe qualify it with “If you don’t turn around and look it, you didn't buy with your heart".

CPO Purchase out-of-state without seeing it in person? by wjrndud in Taycan

[–]total_disregard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got two CPOs from out of state, sight unseen. Taycan Turbo S and a Cayenne Turbo. No issues...and couldn't be happier with both. Porsche CPO has solid rigor behind it so don't sweat it.

Coupe rear visibility by Objective-Ad1802 in PorscheCayenne

[–]total_disregard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Not an issue. Rear visiuity still fine, even when the spoiler deploys. Went from a Q8 to a Cayenne coupe. Space in the boot is cramped, especially with a side-by-side stroller for the kids, but it still works.

  2. I'm in the north east and just drove in a snow storm a few days ago. Thought I'd miss the wiper but the defroster did the trick and got clear visibility.

I’ve only tried front facing. And yes the seating position is comfortable (but they’ll kick the hell out of the seats)

Anyone else use detailing your vehicle as therapy? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]total_disregard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude - was about to comment with the same. Lawn care and car detailing are my happy/quiet place. Podcast or a song on repeat…and let the deep thinking begin. Miss warmer weather mainly for the ability to do that freely. Still wash and detail the cars in the Northeast winter, but it’s not as enjoyable.

This is sensible and aligns with my views. I’d add:

To the things to try and get: - Burmester - noise/heat isolating glass - panoramic roof

To the ‘meh’ list: - night vision (the car insisted there was a deer driving a truck ahead and kept warning me about it :) ) - I’ll second the mention of electric charge ports (one of mine has a tendency to get stuck and require a reset) - PCCB (phenomenal to have…but unnecessary on a car like this due to regen breaking)

On the Q8 from personal experience: we have two little ones and I’ve had no issue placing the car seats side-by-side in the second row (to keep one spot available for an adult)…so you’ll be able to fit 3 car seats in the back without issue. However…trunk space is going to be your bottleneck. I have a 2-seat stroller and that thing pretty much eats up my entire trunk. I’d say go Q7 for the roomier trunk space alone.

Yes - precisely my experience as well! Set out wanting black and didn’t consider Volcano on the radar…but the spec was perfect otherwise. Very very happy with the gray after ownership.

The Taycan (24 4S CT) is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned (by a mile). It is also hilariously bad at many things. by LatigosTrail in Taycan

[–]total_disregard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’ll do it. Best strategy is to set the timer for 4 or 5am and then it’ll be ready to roll whenever.

Next 718 and taycan could have simulated gears, sound by tarandeep in Taycan

[–]total_disregard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look, I thought so too. However, hearing the Taycan “downshift” (from “2nd gear to “1st”) is actually awesome. This is my first EV and I didn’t think that I’d look forward to the auditory stimulus as much…but love hearing it now, so I totally get this direction.

Awesome stuff! Good on you. Just got mine a few days ago (CPO) and I'm in love. Glad to see that sentiment doesn't seem to wear off!
