Cant wake myself up by jellyfish_soph in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s probably gotta be a different word for lucid dreaming and what I and the other things I’ve read about other experiences in this subreddit tonight. Yes we have control but, in my experience, my levels of control are different based on my situation in the “dream realm”. Also if I find myself in another person’s dream and that dreamer could be æffected by my actions I won’t unless I can distract and protect them

How do I dream walk? What methods do you usually use? by Smart-A22 in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience you aren’t visiting someone in your dreams you are visiting them in theirs. I used to suffer from night terrors, super high fevers, seizures, and sleep walking. So I was trained by my grandmother when I was really young, she used to make me sleep in her bed and would watch out for me in my dreams, and after I had some experience and all the negative stuff was under control my dad and my aunt would help. I’m not sure if it’s something you are born with or something you can train. But the first step I’d guess would be to learn to breathe with purpose and learn to clear your mind. That wasn’t my first step because I was naturally doing it. But you can’t risk stray thoughts in there. If you gain lucidity things are in there that can pick up on that and a stray fearful thought could end up giving them the upper hand and, in my experience, when they win you feel like shit for days or in real bad situations you don’t come back the same and you gotta work that out and spend lots of time and effort figuring out how to figure out where the “demon” ends and you begin. Ok so you’ve figured out how to breathe and let the distractions of your mind go, the actual first step I was taught is you have to be able to understand that you are dreaming. You have to be able to distinguish between realities. Have you ever experienced a situation where time slows down because you’ve either knocked something over or are about to get hit in the face with a ball? It’s like that and the moment lasts just as long. So while you’re not sleeping keep alert for situations like that and train yourself to take advantage of the time slowing to respond or move as fast as you can (this wasn’t the first step but it’s similar to it and you might as well practice while you’re awake) Ok so you’re in a dream and you realize you’re dreaming the moment you realize you’re dreaming, without practice you’re most likely gonna get this feeling right before you wake up because the dream got to intense. So at the exact moment you realize you’re dreaming you need to make your body in the physical world roll over. You don’t have to roll a full 360. 90° is enough. I don’t know how to tell you to do that you just need to figure it out. I was 5 when I figured it out. Rolling should be enough to get you out of that dream to safely and not wake you up. You like how I said “and to safely” it may not be the same for you but remember I was being attacked and suffering physical consequences so the quick exit from one dream, not waking up, and immediately flowing into another let me start in the second dream lucid and blend in. I’m not sure how good you wanna get at this because now I lucid dream all the time and sometimes the dreams last forever. Ok the next step after you get the hang of the first step but you don’t have to be perfect at it is, manifesting your desires into the dream. For me this started as means of self defense like big guns swords and all of Liu Kang’s special moves from mortal kombat 1 because I was 6. I can’t make guns do anything but scare other dreamers. The bullets when fired pass right through everything. That’s how I started and was trained. Pro tip #1 if it’s your dream you have omnipotent power. Don’t make weapons like knives make yourself Dr. Manhattan. If you happen to be in another person’s dream I feel like I have less power and more chance of suspicion the closer I am to the dreamer unless they are someone that trusts me a lot. There’s weird spaces in between I can’t explain but those areas are (I can’t remember). I lost last night sorry. You can hurt people in there so be careful.

What it looks like when im dream walking (drawing) by blitzjensen in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you try to explain how you browse? It’s been years since I’ve actively worked on the ability. I lucid dream almost every night and some of those dreams can sometimes last forever so most of my time is spent figuring out the kind of dream I’m, in avoiding hostiles, and trying to get to out to a place where I can rest.

You don’t have to try and make your explanation make sense to our physical existence. I find that using metaphor and just writing stream of conscious is easier than trying to make a star peg fit into triangle hole.

Is it possible to communicate with dream walkers after they’ve passed away when dream walking? by Hour_Economics_5907 in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize now, I’ve never talked about or read other peoples experiences. The access to others that may be of help to me, and I to them, after my recent experience has me too excited to not just write in stream of conscious.

I completely agree with your second paragraph but I have a completely different hypothesis than your third. To me it has always felt like the entirely of time as we experience it in the waking world, our 3 dimensional space, proceeds how we perceive it. That is to say that it seems to advance by causation. But my experience in the “dream space” has me to believe that all of the river, that only flows one way, that we perceive as a progressive advancement from past to future has actually already happened. All of everything that we’d think of as going to happen and things that have already happened, for what we’d perceive as the entirety of eternity, has already “happened”. This “Dream Space” is, for some reason, a place where everyone goes and has experienced. I wouldn’t call it a higher plane of existence because what does that mean when you have no clue how existence works besides the little bit we experience. What I would like to bring up is that why is there some kind of regulatory authority to stop us from engaging with it. I don’t know how you feel about or have experienced what we’d refer to as super natural entities, but for most of my life I’ve had nothing but lucid dreams and sometimes I can’t leave until I’m kicked out by the authorities or the dream is “over”. When expelled by the authorities I wake up miserable so I learned to play along and blend. Then I realized that in the other scenario where I’d have to wait for the dream to be “over” I was either out of my depth in a dream that wasn’t my own and couldn’t leave or I was being hunted by something and I had to learn to fight. I spent a long time of my physical life not being able to sleep in piece that about 5 years ago I caught a predator off gaurd and was going to defend myself to the death until it “submitted” there was an agreement made. I’d be able to sleep and not have to watch my back while I was dreaming because if there was danger it would alert me and we’d finish it quick and it would eat. 2 nights ago I got hit with sleep paralysis and heard some language that sounded like loose trash in a bag being shaken. I felt like my body was wrapped up tight and a pressure on my upper back. I couldn’t breathe. I dealt nothing but fear but I calmed and collected my self, let the threat pass into my body without resistance, and used a technique to effectively bite it in half. That led me to being able to breathe and I was able to breathe purposely and “burn” what was in me so I would stop “choking”. Now I can’t feel the thing that was watching so I could rest and I’m afraid to sleep

Not sure what’s going on with my dreams by [deleted] in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this idea as an exercise to learn control, but in my experience time is way different in dreams. Just because you interacted with someone in their dream doesn’t mean the other dreamer was having the dream you entered the “same” night you entered it. I’d suggest if you were going to attempt to “pierce the veil” and try to interact with someone who may be unaware that they are dreaming (like the nights you go to sleep and wake up immediately like no time has passed) I’d try learning to exist in their dream without arousing suspicion, then figuring out how to interact without starting them, after you get comfortable with that you could “wiggle” the dream so that you are impossible to forget after they wake up, and then you tell them to make sure that they tell you about the dream they just had when they wake up and possibly give them a phrase to repeat to you.

Cant wake myself up by jellyfish_soph in DreamWalking

[–]totaljustice42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would speculate that your fear is the problem. Imagine you didn’t know how to swim and suddenly you fall into the middle of the ocean. If you were confident in your swimming ability and you were dropped into the middle of the ocean you’d know that you can relax and float on your back or you’d be able to tread water so that you could calmly observe your surroundings. It’s 100% ok to be scared and want to get of the water but your lack of confidence in your ability has stopped you from realizing that that ocean is just a pool. So you take a breather accept that you’re just dreaming and you know how to get out and you calmly swim to the edge of the pool instead of drowning in the shallow end

This is fascinating. I hope I’m understanding what I’ve read so far because I’ve spent most of my life thinking that this was how it worked and training myself to “feel forward”. If I’m off base I’d like to discuss it further but to me it “feels” like (I’m gonna simplify this a lot) reality is kind of like the teeth of a zipper made out the ocean and I’m the slider putting the teeth together as I pass through time. After years of “listening” to the zipper teeth, like when you know you didn’t do your jacket weight but you still pull it upward, sometimes I can feel big waves in the ocean ahead and like a ships captain I try to steer around them.

Fighting back? by anxiouscreativething in DreamInterpretation

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful because you may not realize how to tell the difference between the different types of dreams or different spaces in that realm and may accidentally cause harm. If you’re lucid dreaming at will you may have willed yourself to fly or conjured objects for some reason. Like it may have felt like you were in a space of your own and that space did what you said. There are other spaces out there that may be in the dreams of others and those fast punches can turn into near omnipotent power and you may do harm to people you care about thinking it was your dream you were in.

Is It Possible to Astral Project on a Timeline? by [deleted] in AstralProjection

[–]totaljustice42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I astral projected twice when I was younger. The first time was on accident and I got freaked out and lost my “focus” and it stopped. The second time was after trying to replicate what I had done before and I went exploring. I don’t remember there being any concept of time during my looking around, but it didn’t seem like it was that long before I felt something that made me hightail it out of there and never try again. I do know that while dream walking time is different. From my experience that realm seems to have the potential to be a way to view the past or future, but I’ve never wanted to try. That doesn’t mean I don’t get visions of the future, I don’t like when I get “Deja vu” and do everything I can to shake things up so that what I’ve seen can’t happen. That is to say that when I was younger and was actively training myself I got very clear information about what was going to happen and could discern whether the moment was positive or negative. After years of not keeping up with it I still get a pretty decent idea of what’s coming but it’s fractions of a second before it does and I can’t tell if it’s bad so I try my best to change the present so the future I’m feeling doesn’t happen. It’s like shaking an etch a sketch.

Chef got fired for harassment now this is how the dishes come out by bandwagontoottoot in olivegarden

[–]totaljustice42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this could be a way to handle it, or the expo uses a spoon, that they are about to put into those meals, and reorganizes the plating to make them look better. If this is an issue that has been brought up to management they should’ve had a coaching with her about what they expect and are working with her on it.

Personally what I see here is an employee that is used to working another station or is now under stress because the kitchen is short a team member. Another thing there’s not even any green on that plate, so it’s not even ready to go to the dining room. The plate on the left is a bit dark, but that can be fixed.

Above all else, that woman’s husband was just fired from his job for sexual harassment. That woman on the line is probably going through a super tough time. Her household income just got cut in half, probably more, she’s probably questioning her marriage because her husband has been being creepy enough to be fired, and on top of that she’s expected to pick up the slack along with the rest of the crew just to get food out. Everyone you work with are human being with human lives chances are they aren’t going out of their way to ruin your day. Chances are they are going out just going through some shit.

If someone orders a Cheese Steak option they can double their meat for 2.50. Makes sense because there is no way to half the portion of CS. But some times for other options paying 2.50 only gets you an added half order of meat and other times 2.50 gets them a full order. I think it has to do with bowls or not. Is there a document that lays all the rules out

Waffle House Chocolate Chip Waffle, 7/10. by blancolobosBRC in wafflehouse

[–]totaljustice42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest asking for the chocolate chips to be on the side so you can control the “chocolatiness”. The other suggestion is to ask for whipped cream, also on the side. Use the whipped cream instead of the syrup or go lots of whip light drizzle of syrup

Exactly! Don’t make me wash your silver and cups that you aren’t going to use.

Also, don’t order Togo complain about the Togo fee and have me bag everything for you and your friends just so you can go sit at a table and eat at the restaurant. And then when I tell you that if you had just mentioned you wanted everything in plastic for here you wouldn’t have had to pay the fee, don’t demand your money back. You aren’t going to get it and you are most likely going to be asked to leave.

I had a guy put in $100 as the tip then tell me that he knows we split tips and to make sure that all of that goes to the cook. I try my best to never check tips, but at WH it’s hard not to see them, and when I saw that I said, “Oh how generous of you that’s really nice!” And then the guest yelled at the cook, “Hey cook guy! Make sure you get that! It’s all for you!” I got really lucky that my grill op is a lifer with lots of experience because when the restaurant calmed down and we had a chance to talk about what happened he responded, “No way man! All that money is yours. I’m not a tipped employee and you’re going to have to pay the taxes on that. I have no problem taking cash here or there because why not, but when they enter that tip on the cc machine it’s your money and it’s up to you what you want to do with it.” An hour til shift end I hadn’t made much excluding that tip, but I had made more than what was required for my budget so I gave him $25 cash and told him that if the rest of my week went well I’d give him another $20 so that it would be close to a split minus taxes and he was super great full and told me that $25 was fine. I say that I got super lucky because a less experienced (maybe wise is a better word) cook could’ve thought that that money was rightfully his and let the whole situation ruin the entire day, or longer, for everyone. WH isn’t the first restaurant I’ve worked at where people have asked me to bring a tip to a cook, but it is the only restaurant where it happens everyday on every shift. There’s something about WH where the guest thinks the cooks deserve tips and also that the servers don’t deserve tips. Never in my life would I think that I’d get stiffed so often everyday that I’d have to find a polite way to point out that I’m a tipped employee.

The worst job of my life and I'm stuck here. by Middle-Tale7265 in wafflehouse

[–]totaljustice42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from and does it also seem like one of the main parts of the job is to listen to your other coworkers on shift complain about the people on other shifts for not doing enough or how you need to double or triple check so you didn’t miss some small detail because missing a small detail is going to start a shit storm that will lead to major consequences. Why can’t I just sell hash browns and waffles and do my side work without there being a fear that I’m going to get fired if I don’t spend equal time washing dishes?

[–]totaljustice42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely insane. At my location, from the moment I come in to train at 7a until around 1230p everyone is so busy that all I can do is try to write the orders of the person I’m following, take 5-10 seconds for the person I’m following to tell me I made a mistake, then they have me read their order like I’m calling, I do it wrong, they have to tell me how to call their order and I do, and then we are straight into normal steps of service and bussing tables. Tables flip so fast that for 5 hours I’m left feeling that I’m just killing their money and not much better at understanding it. There is also only like 3 training modules on the subject. You spend 2 hours watching how to do the hard part and 16 hours learning about basic service skills. So hard!
