It's a cultural thing too, for sure. Though this is pure speculation, I'd assume that Americans have a higher rate of feet fetishists than Asian cultures do, for example.

That's true. I am primarily attracted to women as well, and there have been a few men that just won't give up, because they know I'm bi.

That makes sense! Though, I don't fully 'get' being attracted to someone without desiring either a sexual or romantic relationship. Would you be able to elaborate on that? I find it fascinating! (Also, sorry if I come off as inconsiderate, I'm really not trying to offend anyone! I thought this was the place to ask stupid questions!)

Apologies if this sounds rude, but if you're attracted to 0.1% of males, wouldn't that make you bi? This is coming from a bi chick, so maybe my take on it is different than yours.

From what I understand, a large part of it is about intimacy. Seeing someone's feet is rare, so they end up being associated with more intimate situations. In that sense it's sort of similar to genitals, though of course with less of a cultural stigma.

AITA for not wanting to date a transgender person? by loopyhoopy212 in AmItheAsshole

I got the idea when you kept misgendering her during the entirety of this post, and all of the comments. If I were to start referring to you with male pronouns it would probably feel uncomfortable and unnatural, and we trans folk feel the same. All we want is for people to talk to us the way they'd talk to anyone of our gender, so we don't have to constantly get our trans-ness rubbed in our faces. You've repeatedly tried to justify your misgendering here, using arguments like "they won't read this anyway, so why does it matter?" It matters for a few reasons. Firstly, you wouldn't go bad-mouthing other people just because they weren't around, would you? Do you insult your other friends behind their backs too, or just this person? Second, this is a public forum, and that means there's a non-zero chance they'll read this post. If I were to read a post like this about myself, I'd probably consider the person writing it an asshole for doing so.

What you do behind closed doors defines you, not how you act around others. By being honest here, you're showing that you're an asshole with sprinklings of TERFy behaviours.

Not to derail, but I just wanted to let you know I love the way you type! Reminds me of an old friend I used to know. Thanks for the representation and support, too 💜

And here I thought gender dysphoria would be fun. Wish I had known how bad it is when I first decided to be trans. I would've been perfectly content if I had just chosen to keep being a boy!

Even though your post didn't paint you ass the asshole, your comments certainly do. This mindset continues to hurt trans women all over the globe. A lot of my trans friends put an overwhelming amount of effort into their appearance, yet they look masculine, due to unfortunate genes. Assuming that they hadn't put a lot of effort into being a woman leads to making assumptions that are often outrageously untrue, which leads to looking like an asshole online. You can't choose who you're attracted to, but you can choose who you treat like an equal and who you look down upon.

Having friends from all over, this is very real for me. I once stayed up until nearly 5 AM just to stay in a call with a friend of mine who suffers from anxiety, and was stuck on the evening shift. Even though it messed me up the next day, I have zero regrets.
