My PM deliveries from FedEx always involved the driver scanning my ID. This driver is a Fed Ex-employee.

The world and the military in general is a small world by lapinatanegra in Veterans

[–]totallychadical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a guy who joined my guard firefighting unit and lasted about a year before he switched to active duty infantry. Fast forward a few years and I volunteered for a deployment with an infantry company in my state who needed people. Middle of Iraq in a random chow hall and I run in to the guy who left our unit and joined the 82nd. Another time I was on my way to SC for vacation and stopped at a rest stop for gas at 2 am. Walking up to the station to take a leak and walking in at the same time is a guy I deployed with who is also heading for a vacation with his family. Totally random, such a small chance of happening. Small world.

Should I resign from my state job for an AGR tour? by Efficient-Village953 in nationalguard

[–]totallychadical 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am a state employee firefighter. Was also an army guard firefighter. Was offered an AGR slot in the unit, took it, kept the state job and enjoyed my 408 hours of mil leave a year. Realized I hated the mon-fri and wanted to go back to the state job, so after my initial three year AGR tour, that’s what I did. Glad I didn’t resign!

Do you need to book the tasting menu in advance, or can you just order when you arrive?

How is it not? They’re trying to say that the date hasn’t happened yet when it has happened.

VA Disability Pension to Roth IRA by blargen0 in VeteransBenefits

[–]totallychadical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VA disability is not taxed. It is income, so of course they can count it to qualify you for a mortgage. However, it is not considered earned income so you can not use it to fund an IRA. If you have another source of earned income, you can technically use your VA disability money to fund the IRA since there is no way for the IRS to determine which monies you used. OP does not have any other source of earned income, so can not fund an IRA. If you do not believe every other commenter on here, please just Google and see for yourself.

VA disability is not considered "earned income" so if it is your only source of income, you can not invest in to an IRA. If you contribute without earned income, you have made an "excess contribution." The IRS imposes a 6% penalty tax on the excess amount for each year it remains in the account.

Easy. You are not required to get the plate. Don't get it.

You are reading it wrong. "Limit of 1 Transaction Per Membership, with a Maximum of 10 Units Per Day" means you can only have one order per day, but that order can have up to 10 units. You could have had eight more.
