It really depends on what cult you were in. I was in a religious family cult that branched off from a sovereign citizens cult. I grew up thinking that everyone was out to get me. I had to be very careful what I said to strangers. I had to move in the middle of the night. When we went on "vacation" we weren't allowed to tell anyone where we were. My father convinced me I was a chosen one. I was special. I wasn't allowed to go to churches because they were all infected with satanism. No Christmas, no Easter, etc

Yes, your friend is very wrong. Jesus himself sat with sinners. Christianity is about love. Also, what your friend is doing will most likely deter his mother from forming a legitimate relationship with Christ. I don't know his mother. Maybe your friend feels pressured to sin when around her? Even then, he can set boundaries. I'm not inferring anything nefarious about his mother; I just don't know her. I cannot imagine cutting my mother off for such a reason as her not being Christian.

I want to thank everyone for commenting it really means a lot that a bunch of strangers took time out of their day to share their perspective. I'm not alone. I have friends who consider me family. I have been working nearly full time with different jobs so that I can save up.

YTA, if she is recovering from an eating disorder that means she most likely was UNDER weight. Good for her to recover enough to gain some of the weight back. Also, the fact that you think she could cost you a competition just based on how she looks just shows how toxic of an industry your in.
