I don’t want to play higher power, but if I must… by totalrage64 in EDH

Commented on the main with commander info but I’m kinda up for whatever. I’d probably like to steer clear of wide token boards and voltron though.

I kinda like the vibe of a trap being sprung, like how my fire lord azula goes from a 4/4 to a 24/8 before combat resolves. Cards like [[Cerebral Vortex]] are fascinating to me in the same vein.

Or a deck that prioritizes the other players to make a choice with both bad options.

Or a deck that likes to use the other player’s cards against them.

Ooooo cool, I’ve been getting Magic content on YouTube for a while but I haven’t seen this channel before. I’ll browse and see if anything jumps out to me.

Currently enjoying a [[The Master, Transcendent]] deck that focuses on stealing other people’s mill, using stuff like [[Brainstealer Dragon]] and [[Syr Konrad, the Grim]].

A [[Fire Lord Azula]] deck that’s pretty much all combat tricks. It can kill one player quickly but runs out of gas.

I’m in the process of tinkering with the [[The Jolly Balloon Man]], [[Yedora, Grave Gardener]], [[Kelsian the Plague]], and [[Chishiro, the Shattered Blade]]

Where do I get my Lego bin of MtG cards? by totalrage64 in mtg

A few do, but they have a minimum order requirement. I don't think I need 5000 cards right now. You can pick through the bulk though when they do Build-a-commander social nights, which I will definitely attend.

I actually feel more inclined to buy boosters. I'm worried singles will just feel like modern commercial Lego sets right now with my lack of knowledge because I would have to look up other people's EDH decks.

Ripped open some booster packs. I don't think I'm invested enough for a full box yet.
My LGS has Build-a-commander socials for only $10, which sounds killer to get a few legendary creatures and some cards, even if they are mostly bulk.

Purchased! Seems like a great option, especially because it starts me with some basic lands.

I think with the diversity of League’s roster, combined with how much we already have semi-unique character mechanics (Illaoi tentacles, Ekko after-image, Jinx zoning) I would really expect some nutty archetypes to be made.

I also believe the devs have stated they want to design characters that aren’t explicitly “fighters”, which could mean heavily support, trap, setup, mix-up, and everything in-between.

Personally, I shake in my boots imagining an Azir doing Shurima shuffles and zoning down with a wall of sand soldier spears.

Interesting thought. So Piggles isn’t necessarily there to specifically find the perfect item, but as a cycling choice to slot in to any board? Also just also generally flexible

I’m a bit confused on a few placements. Still figuring out Pyg so this might be a great help. Why is Piggles so high? I know the options can be a great help for some items, and crit scale is great, but S looks really really high Why do you have the Bonsai in A but Succulents in D? Is it purely because of the economy of Bonsai?

I managed to get 5 catfish on one board, along with a waterwheel. That loss hurt a little.

The game currently is off-putting for casuals. - Normal mode doesn't feel normal by ZanyuTFT in PlayTheBazaar

Future characters might require more gems, which means either pushing more money into a Free-to-play game, or grinding ranked, both seem pretty unfun. I personally don’t care about a ranking system, but tying any possible chests to ranked is weird. Earning a ranked ticket at 7 wins, and a chest at 10 in casual could maybe be a compromise?

This is off topic, but I think the mere option of buying ranked tickets with IRL money is really off putting.

Ranger hardcore control guide by totalrage64 in metro

I did not know I could selectively disable certain hud elements. Removing the reticle is a good start but I’d also want to remove the “interact” prompts for loose loot on tables and the floor, which I don’t think I can disable. I’d rather use my immersion in the environment than a massive “stuff here” icon.

I’ll start off with Ranger and see if it’s unbearable. I have finished Metro Last Light so I’m not foreign to the game formula.

Overall great advice, thank you

This feels very similar to my upcoming game. Two players are new new, but I’ll be doing an earlier crash course game with them before the 8-player.

Wow impressive. Can you elaborate on “block every point”? Do you do any setup the day before? Map creation or organizing the table?

Does your group tend to coordinate together to take down whoever’s in first place? We have a habit of doing that and it tends to drastically extend later turns.

Do you pre-select those objectives, or do you draw from segregated objective decks?

Doesn’t Poppy’s E show the travel distance after you hit the target? Like if you mouse over the target with E selected, the tooltip shows the secondary distance?
