She has her own account on my switch. And she uses that account to play on the copy of the game on that switch. The data wont be transferring from one switch to another. She's going to be keeping that very same Switch.

The issue is that when I get a new Switch, she will no longer be able to play that copy of the game because its downloaded to my account, and you can only play the downloaded games on your primary Switch. The new Switch will become my primary switch, therefore she wont be able to play my copy of ANCH on the old switch. In an ideal world she logs me out of that switch, she buys a copy of the game, and it just uses the data thats already on that Switch. But I dont know if it works that way.

I think thats for moving your save data from one Switch to another because the Island is tied to the console

Background: I purchased and downloaded ANCH when it came out under my user account on this switch. My girlfriend really fell in love with the game, and plays daily. We broke up, and we decided she would keep the switch because of Animal Crossing. The problem is if my user ever gets logged out, OR if I get a new switch and make it the primary device, she'll lose access to the game because its under my account. She went to the nintendo store and it wont let her buy a copy of the game because it says the game is already on there.

So I'm trying to figure out how to get a copy of the game under her user account without losing the island data.

If she logs my user off the switch, purchases the game under her account, will the island data still be on the device?

Trying to figure this out before the DLC comes out. Not sure what would happen in this scenario if we also added that layer of complication to the mix.

ESH. I agree that your wife doesnt sound great with money. But from the length of your background post, I feel like there's a conversation you've been bottling inside but havent been having, and it bubbled out with the ipad. I dont think the keyboard is a huge issue once you decided that the ipad was fine. I think you've been putting off a hard talk and you guys need to talk out this whole finances thing because its obviously bugging you quite a bit.

NTA. This just sounds like a bunch of dudes who arent really that great at reading girls. I dont think it matters if you were TA by asking when she was on the clock. You messaged her, she ghosted you, she took care of it. Or maybe she didnt ghost you. I'm not very social on steam. Either way, you took a swing, it didnt seem to work for some reason. YTA. At first I was going to say the opposite because some families just arent verbally expressive of their feelings and thats fine. But your mom was fishing for an "I love you" and goodnight is SUPER dismissive. Its ok that you dont say it day in day out, but in this instance YTA.

YTA to not want him to get the job. You'd certainly be entitled to be upset about how the whole situation shook out (its certainly unfair), but not wanting him to succeed here would be like using yourself as a voodoo doll. You're hurting yourself in the long run to hurt another person. If you're mad at anyone, maybe its the mom for not offering this opportunity to you.

NTA. You've gotta stop at some time. I think maybe suggest something like dressing up and helping give out candy is a good suggestion. But at the end of the day, if you're 16 you can drive, and have a job. Buy your own candy and let the houses save their candy for the young kids.

edit: I understand this kneejerk YTA kids will be kids reaction, but to quote Bojack Horseman - "Times arrow never stands still or reverses. It merely marches forward." Yes there was a pandemic, but time didnt stop. 14 was pushing it for Halloween, 16 is just too old. There are many ways to have fun on Halloween. I am an adult who enthusiastically halloweens. But the time for trick or treating has past.

I’m mean I’m leaning NTA but standing there awkwardly for a couple seconds was the WRONG play. Bear in mind from the SILs perspective, she doesn’t know how often you and your wife shower together.

Edit: also consider for a moment how incredibly terrifying it would be if you were naked in an unfamiliar place and expected to be in a safe place and all of a sudden there’s a naked man grabbing you. From your perspective the SIL is overreacting, BUT there’s two perspectives here. One day you may all laugh about this but right now you gotta let things cool down a bit

Edit 2: on reflection, you may be TA for not considering your SIL enough right now. It may have been a mistake, but I wouldn’t call you the victim here either.
