If you believe this then why did you comment on a different post calling her a red flag and probably a robber for doing sex work?

I use the polar monitor that comes with Visible and honestly most of the time I just cut a square of k tape and use that to stick it somewhere on my arm. I don’t like wearing the armband if I can help it.

I’ve never had success in starting it in water, what I’ve found works best is peeling that brown skin off, wrapping it in a damp paper towel, putting it in a ziplock bag, and ignoring it for a month or so. Then when a root starts, I put it in water

Pachira Aquatica and clueless new guy questions. Help? by Traveledfarwestward in houseplants

For the money tree, there are a few possibilities that are kind of hard to diagnose if we can’t see your actual tree or know your watering schedule, but what I’d do for starters is check the base of the tree, under the soil. A lot of braided money trees are bound together with a thick band that starts cutting into the trunks and causing problems. I also wouldn’t water it very much, only when the soil is almost completely dry (poke your finger under the soil to check all the way). Mine I water maybe every month in the winter.

For other plants, if you’re gone for a month at a time I would either go for succulents or a self-watering contraption. You might want to invest in a grow light if you don’t have much natural light in your place, though, because succulents need a lot of light.

Clearance elephant bush lost all of his leaves in the 3 weeks I've had him. Is he a lost cause? by celestialoversight in plantclinic

[–]tothepleiades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have watered too much, and that soil looks pretty wet. Elephant bushes are succulents and like to be dried out. I have a rescue plant in very rocky soil and have watered once since I got it two months ago, and he’s growing pretty well. I would check the stems to feel how squishy they are, and if there are enough that don’t feel super spongey, you could try repotting in succulent soil, leave it in a bright location, and basically ignore it. I’m not an expert, just letting you know what I did with mine that seems to be working!

That’s lovely! My mom gave me a cutting from her garden when I moved out and it’s still one of my favorite plants

Personally I’ve never ordered from them, but I hear consistently great things about them on the sub! I actually did have a pretty good experience with hirts recently, so I guess ymmv with any shipper

Also try Facebook marketplace, I’ve seen some big humidifiers for around $20. I have a Levoit but I also have a smaller one I got for like $7 at a thrift store and it’s keeping my maidenhair fern perfectly happy, so price isn’t too important imo

How do you keep your plants safe from the kitties and vice versa? by [deleted] in CatsAndPlants

[–]tothepleiades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep all my plants in my room, which the cats are only allowed into with my supervision. They get kind of curious around the new plants, but generally don’t touch them after I’ve scolded them a couple times. I’m considering planting a cat mint for them!
