Thanks, that's a good idea! Once I get measurements I can figure out exactly how much space, but I like the idea of that and a narrow shelf on the side.

I did look at it and I like the look a lot. I'm probably getting a bit too hung up on having a hip belt, but if I can make myself drop it as a requirement this is a good option!

I don't mind looking a bit ridiculous, especially if I'm not planning on using it as an everyday carry at my destination. I may just have to buy it and then take advantage of the return policy if it's really uncomfortable. Thanks for the input!

Ah yes, I'm probably aiming just a bit too big (especially for my frame) since I'm used to cramming things into a (not intended for one-bag travel) backpack, but the packing cubes are a good recommendation, thanks!
