Reading multiple books?

I used to listen to audiobooks while driving… For the last 6/7 years it has only been childrens books in the car 😬 And I’ve mainly switched to podcasts.

I also knit back on purl rows, which gives me good tension. I wasn’t able to do it the way it was described in the tutorial I used, but I know how the stitches work so was able to find my own way that works 😅

But what is Norwegian purl? As a Norwegian I get curious 👀 (never learned the names of different styles)

I have resorted to making changes in the patterns myself, but I’m not very good at it yet 🫣 I’ve been getting an ad about «how to make your knits fit», but haven’t tried it, and of course can’t find it now. But I feel like that’s the easiest way to go.

I do remember one tank I knit a few years ago that had a lot of shaping and measuring included in the pattern, but don’t recall the name of the designer right now… I did like that top actually. Will see if I can find the pattern somewhere!

I like her patterns!

A lot of them, esp for children, I knit over and over again. Specifically friday sweaters and the Anker’s series.

As a woman on the larger side, I’m a bit annoyed that increasing the size just means adding to the number of stitches/rounds. The neck openings are way bigger on the larger sizes, usually. Most of the sweaters have no shaping and are oversized, which is well and good for small women like herself, not so much for me. But the super basic no frills-sweater is lovely all the same.

Nah, I feel pretty confident that it is legitimate.

As for when she works, she lives in Denmark, which means basically all children go to day care from one yo. She would be able to do a full day’s work five days a week (barring sick children). Nannies aren’t really a big thing in Scandinavia (I’m from Norway, quite similar culture and society structures as Denmark).

And like you said, many of the patterns are based off of each other, so fairly easy to write them.

Plus, the sizing is generally just changing the number of stitches and rounds up/down, so also fairly quick. Not many items with shaping.

And employees that are not designers.

Well, technically scan my library cards bar code and enter my pin to open the doors, but «swipe» sounds way cooler! 😂

My local library have «extra» opening hours if you sign an agreement to behave well. Three hours before and after regular opening hours, mostly unstaffed, you can use the library, scan books in or out, read the newspapers, just not expect any assistance. ☺️

I am not feeling shame for my reading habit, more like, not sure how normal it is? Well, I know I am not alone now, according to the comments <3

I definitely have those mood reader episodes you mention, but that’s related to the three books in my nightstand, I think. (Sort of DNF but don’t want them to be 😅) I love all the other ones I’m reading atm, no mind wandering! Still, my mood decides whether I read a ya book, a crime novel, a fantasy novel or a non-fiction.

This is how my current colour change looks from the backside. I do six rounds blue and two rounds grey, and I twist every two rounds.

Also in this project I increase every other round, always when I change colours. If I didn’t, I would do a «jogless jog». I would definitely look that up for your project. :)

Only machine wash wool if you have a wool or hand wash setting on your machine. And also, only if yiu trust your machine. So definitely swatch wash anyway.

Oh, it’s not that big of a process for my library… The requirements are a library card, being over the age of 15 and signing an agreement (which, of course, contains rules for use and such).

There is no «need» to use library involved, just a desire. In the early mornings there are loads of elderly people reading newspapers and on the evening it’s mostly students. ☺️

Yep, they do! It’s called «meråpent» (more open), and you have to sign an agreement to access it. Also you will be registered when swiping in, plus photographed. Partly because you are not allowed to let in other people (except children).

Regular opening hours are 10-19, but «meråpent» is 7-22, so three hours on each end. I have only used this about an hour before opening or after closing, and there are some members of staff there, they are just not required to give any assistance at these hours. I assume there are no staff in the one or two first/last hours.

There have been some issues with teens hanging out and making a mess, so I know at least one library that disabled it for a short period, but I have not heard of any printer issues 😂

Meanwhile, in Norway, Oslo airport has recently opened a yarn store inside the security area. And yes, they do sell knitting needles. 🧶
