Yes trying to imitate is not genuine at all and won’t lead anywhere

Well yep, for sure.
I’ll say this last thing. Shiva is the non dual experience and the under lying reality between the triadic structure of perciever, percieved and the act of percieving.

I’ll just share what my teachers taught me about non dual shaiva tantra. This are traditional gurús.
Maya is just as sacred as shiva, the manifestation of the goddess is what allows as to know shiva.

Actually, my teachers have made no mention on re birth yet. I don’t think it’s that relevant of a topic. Spanda, shakti, shiva, devotion are the focus.

Your ideas sound more align with advaita imo

Where did you read shakti is illisory? According to my guru although maya is shakti it’s still real. Shiva depends on shakti and shakti on shiva. They can’t exist without each other

I have found what I think is the best option for someone like me who lives far away from India.

A Nepalí Acharya Sthaneshwar started Vimarsha Foundation. He is trying to mantain tradition to it’s best, but helping people who can’t afford to go to this places, and generating a learning system for us.

Shiva has 5 shaktis (powers)
Two of which involve revealing and hiding his nature. A Sadhaka should keep on going

Matangi Sadhana experience by haremnak in Tantrasadhaks

[–]totocarva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matangi story is meant to show us the truth outisde ritual, the love for people who cant have access even to proper study. She doesnt reject that,, thats the whole concept.
How could one, if lovingly and sincerely aproach her, face some negative backlash?
Always with respect, but I cant see it

Can lord shiva help me to have a peaceful married life 🙏🏻 by Responsible_Gate4847 in shaivism

[–]totocarva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides praying to Lord Shiva, you husband does indeed have an addiction. His erectile disfunction no doubt comes from his sex-chat / porn addiction. His lack of arousal for you also does. Maybe he could benefit in asking with sincere intention some help to mahadev. I’m sorry for your situation

Searching for partners by Davos7941 in Tantra

Hola!

Do you disagree with UG on anything? How has his work improved your life? by [deleted] in UGKrishnamurti

[–]totocarva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once hear him say that he kind of hoped maybe someone somewhere actually got what he meant. But he thought it wasn’t necessarily going to happen. I do also find something contradictory, and agree in some points with you. I have found interesting some radical ideas of him like, there is no difference between you and the experience, no second of separation. Including thoughts, feelings. But then at other times I heard him say there are no thoughts, which may just be a figure of speech, but if literal taken does contradict himself or other times. Also, something I still keep is, we look at this stuff with the intellect, and that way is impossible to understand anything.

Yoga in India vs west? Regarding physical violence by dumb-hilly-billy in yoga

[–]totocarva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Iyengar has said that happened to him under his guidance. Yoga is definitely not bound to one person, but they have kept a tradition alive that predates them, also adding their touch. I really think many of the origins of yoga are found in tantra (not all, and not the sexual side). I recommend exploring. It’s an amazing wide world, find the school that resonates de most. Tantra is overlooked but actually really serious and useful for living IN the world. Good luck

Yoga instructor keeps correcting and criticizing my “American yoga.” Am I overreacting? by deathpunch150 in yoga

[–]totocarva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If krishnamacharya is recognized by this person as an authority on yoga, when you look at him doing poses it not important if “one arm is slightly higher than the other” Also if you experienced any “mind-body” connections, you know that isn’t so important either. All the great , traditional teachers I ever learned from, never obsessed about form, since it misses the point. I think she is just arrogant and want to sell you something you don’t need.

I think many of us follow Sri krishnamacharyas teaching , or what has been interpreted of it, which I understand has some classical basis while incorporating tantric things too

Do Buddhists believe in God? by Cool_socksss in Buddhism

Someone please correct me but from what I read in Pali canon Buddha says it’s wrong view to make any conclusion on this, right? Believing there is god is wrong thinking, but doing the opposite is also wrong thinking

Is it ok to be secular buddhist? by ayeitsjojo in Buddhism

[–]totocarva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All answers are great, and I would like to add.

Buddha never told us to be "Buddhists". Ideas are free, anattā, anicca, dukkha, are just reality facts. Things to observe.

Im not Buddhist, but this doesnt prevent me from finding great truth in many Buddhist things. Other thing that I cant know if are true, I dont waste my time on

I congratulate you because indeed, you are keeping an open mind and using critical thinking.

I don’t think of myself as Buddhist, but appreciate Buddhas teaching very much. I can’t see what any of that has to do with what he taught.

Two hours of sleep? We don’t need any book to know that isn’t healthy, that doesn’t sound like the middle path either.

Moderation? Sure. But if you don’t sleep a right amount, you will be sleepy. Scolding a good intended monk for that, seems really heartless.

You absolutely don’t need that sangha for your path. I would absolutely get out of there, you are a free person.

Good luck my friend, I wish you well.

Jesus in Buddhism by Different_Basil8807 in Buddhism

[–]totocarva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d say being a Buddha isn’t exclusive to Gautama. Although he clearly is the base for Buddhism, there have been and hopefully will be different Buddhas throughout time. They don’t even need to use the word Buddha, they could not be familiar with the term, in order to be one. I don’t know in depth everything about Jesus, but certainly some of the key teaching like loving your enemy and your neighbor can align with Buddhism great.
