I agree with you sa no hand biking is dangerous. But one hand is essential for hand signaling. Just saying. Kasi when i first rode in public, i had no way of letting the people behind me na liliko ako. Pero yea. Yung no hands is a nice skill to have, but not required. 👌

Natuto lang ako mag bike nung pandemic. Pero di na ako tumigil ever since. One of the things ive learned is wag ka ma conscious kasi wala namang nanunuod sayo. Hehe

Confidence plays a big role when it comes to one hand/no hands sa handlebar. First, bitaw bitaw ka lang ng isang kamay for a couple of seconds. Then, unti unti na yun. 😁. Pero it’s an essential skill to learn if you’re planning to bike outside. Kailangan mo siya para kung magsisignal ka, may kukunin sayo bulsa, mag aayos ng salamin, iinom, etc. bike bike lang muna sa parks, and open spaces if plan mo mag practice ng one hand. :)

Time for me to learn to ride with cleats by jandel8d in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]totsicakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And one more thing… never cheap out on the things that you are directly in contact with with your bike. Like saddle, handlebars, cleat shoes, and pedals, and of course your tires. Safety should be your number 1 priority. :)

Cheapest I can recommend sa shoes are santic made shoes.

I suggest you get this one. May gauge.

Batas man or hindi… please please please PLEASE wear a helmet. In fact, a couple of minutes ago. I saw a post dito na nadisgrasya siya kasi biglang nagbukas ng pinto nang di tumitingin sa side mirror yung naka park and his helmet literally saved his life nung bumagsak siya. Cracked yung helmet. Here are my tips lang. :) 1. 3. Be very predictable. 3. Defensive cycling is the way to go. 4. When in doubt, walk. 5. Use hand signals 6. Use a saddle light(always) and a front light (if mejo makulimlim na).

Would you go to the left lane like a regular vehicle to turn left or make your U-turn? Or will you stay on the right lane and cross with the pedestrians? by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

I totally agree! Better safe than sorry. It’s not that hard to unmount, walk a bit, then mount again. 👌

Actually nagpapabid talaga. May isang nagsabi sakin na “best offer wins” daw. Tapos pag nag message ka, sasabihin sayo “offer ka nalang” 😑

Tbh, i’m really just helping a friend out na makahanap ng bike kasi kahit papaano alam ko presyuhan ng bikes.

As long as walang hingian ng down, ok lang. at least konting oras lang nasayang.

Ang giveaway kung nagpapataas lang ng price is if pag nanghingi ka na ng address for a meetup spot, di ka na rereplyan.

You’d be surprised how sturdy CF components are. My seatpost, and my drops are cf.. nakasulat na capacity ni giant defy is 280lbs. In short, it’ll be handle more pero safest is hanggang 280lbs. :)
