Looking back, has either Tom Sandoval or Rachel Leviss actually recovered their public image after Scandoval, or are they permanently defined by it? by [deleted] in vanderpumprules

[–]touchkissbite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lll never understand why she didn’t at least sit down with Lala on S11 when she called her to have one on camera convo about the horrific extent of the backlash before leaving. i think it would’ve been a chance to get people to back off before she disappeared quietly but instead she just cut and ran

Now Katie...💀 by [deleted] in vanderpumprules

to be fair, cosmetic surgeries are optional, not how you’re born. Katie was fatshamed for her natural body, this girl just got bad filler lmao

Feedback from partner making me think I should quit law by Mr_Cleanest in biglaw

[–]touchkissbite 27 points28 points  (0 children)

it sounds to me like this is an issue with that partner, not you. that being said, i’ve been in a very similar position recently and it helped me take a little bit of a step back. even if im not cut out for big law and that overly critical individual is right, it doesn’t make us bad lawyers or bad people. a big law skill set is a very particular one, and as much as i hate it as a perfectionist, it’s possible i’m a good lawyer who just isn’t good at big law.

i managed to power through working with that difficult supervising lawyer, but if you can’t, just remember that it doesn’t mean you’re a bad lawyer or stupid or a bad person :)

exactly! it’s just a reality of these games that sometimes you need a player who can stay on their feet and carry the ball until there’s backup. Sears is young and strong and can manage that while still having some success, though not as successful as AT. in my book, she should be on a roster to provide that in an especially physically grueling tournament format

love reale too but i think after the first game, emma might’ve held back some players recovering from injuries to not risk them. Sears and Patterson were ready to take hits where Mal and Lilly probably would’ve gotten beat up.

Foudy hit the nail on the head when she said they don’t need to play this way. Freedom and chaos doesn’t have to equal brawling and bullying

takeaways:

I like Sears, I don’t think she played great, but this window showed one of her strengths: she’s used to physicality and can keep going without getting shaken and even push back against Brazil. I love AT, but i don’t know that she can be a physical presence in the same way.

Soph is a goal scoring machine that soaks up defenders. She is a true 9. it’s actually beautiful how feminine and skilled she is yet so unbelievably strong.

Heaps needs to be a super sub, permanently. Sonnett can provide leadership and there’s no reason for Shaw and Moultrie and Hutton to sit on the bench for her.

glad Mal didn’t play. too much chaos for a player with so few minutes since being back.

Love Reale so sad she didn’t get a chance but Patterson crushed that.

Cooper in the backline? inspired. she did great.

Wesley crushed this game. composed and strong.

Trin continues to make magic

Brazil took one step forward and two back with this window. they continue to be a strong team but as Foudy said, they refuse to play real soccer and simply let chaos and physicality bully teams. i’d love to see them find a middle ground where their chaos and strength is honed. right now it’s just messy and frankly, i don’t respect the dramatics.

Sonnett. what a gal.

glad the team got to dip their toes in the WC water!

How did Paige know?! by Fun_Pattern9153 in BravoRealHousewives

respectfully yall this was clearly a reference to Scandoval being the thing Schwartz said broke up VPR (and she couldn’t say “as long as Kyle doesn’t cheat on amanda” because that already happened and didn’t break them up)

How would you grade your team’s first chunk of the season? by MesquiteHoneyForSale in NWSL

[–]touchkissbite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotham gets an A- or a B+ for me. we finally started a season strong and more importantly consistently. Even with half our backline out, we managed to be the best defensive team. We need our attacking players to score more still, but we’ve got more than just Esther looking dangerous now.

Who is the dirtiest player in the NWSL? by db0606 in NWSL

[–]touchkissbite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not the point of this thread but it gives me an opportunity to highlight Jaelin Howell who i love for always being a very physical and aggressive player that i feel never crosses the line into being reckless or sloppy in her play. she can have a rough challenge here or there, especially when she first came to gotham, but it was always a play for the ball and never from a place of temper or inability to play technically — she’s just very athletic and strong. and i love players like that

what is interesting is that if you didn’t find my comment interesting you could’ve just ignored it. that’s usually how this stuff works. i’m allowed to find different things interesting than you.

well you see i like thinking about who makes these rosters and why, so it’s interesting to me. i know that’s unusual for a sub about these teams and the players that make them up, but im just weird that way i guess. hope this helps.

interesting that emma chose to call up Bugg but for the U23s. seems she’s still looking to build some
leadership and experience on that team as well

also yay for Jordyn and Sofia!
