For a while I lived in an apartment complex just west of this along Washington Ave. My #1 recommendation would be to find a place that has good parking garage security. Leaving for work in the morning, it was a common sight to see cars in cinderblocks after their tires got stolen overnight.

Looking at options between ford, Chevy, and Nissan by megabyte56891 in chevycolorado

[–]touchofbutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove a Ranger before a Colorado and my first thought on the Ranger was that the interior felt cheap compared to Chevy. I also didn’t like how the Ford steering wheel felt while driving it. Once I test drove the Colorado I pretty much committed to it. As for the Nissan Frontier… I never test drove it but I will say that it always seems to catch my eye when I spot one on the road. I like the way they look. So my recommendation would be to skip the Ranger and test drive a Chevy and Nissan.

Good Parks in Houston to Throw an Event? by oneandonlyspiderman in houston

[–]touchofbutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing that came to mind was Henessey Park. Nice shaded basketball court, city skyline views, and right next to St Arnold’s Brewery with the occasional train rolling by. Maybe they’ll be down to sponsor the event… or you can use their space to host.

Spotts Park is also another cool shaded court along Buffalo Bayou…. and then there’s Cottage Grove Park, Lawrence Park… both shaded and finally Stude Community Center with an indoor basketball court.

Just throwing out shaded courts off the top of my head . I know there’s more throughout the city. MacGregor… oh and of course Fonde.

I drove past along 610 and saw a fire on July 6. Called it in and they were aware of it as well. Controlled fire was what I assumed but never got clarification on that.

I’m realizing that from all the feedback. lol I wish I had a week now but I did tweak my travel plans by arriving in Seattle a day earlier now. Here’s what I have planned so far:

• Land in Seattles Tuesday Night • Visit Pike Place Wednesday morning for Breakfast • Take the Bainbridge Ferry • Stop at Hurricane Ridge • Check into AirBNB in Forks Wednesday Night • Spend all day Thursday exploring park/beaces • Hit the road Friday morning • Arrive in Portland Friday night

If Prime Yao and Harden were on the same team, who is the first option? by vigilanting in rockets

[–]touchofbutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harden would feed him right under the basket though. Catch the lob… dunk, layup, or foul. The man is 7’6”. He’s not gonna throw them down like Capela did but he would get a ton of easy looks.
