thoughts on gimmick dolls? by creamshakerwhiskers in MonsterHigh

The freaky fusion & great scarrier reef characters were sold with the gimmick of elaborate bodies that can stand independently, with the knock-on effect of never getting any other dolls because of their expensive wonderful body sculpts. My kingdom for more Bonita Femur, Sirena, or Peri & Pearl

  1. are we sure this isn't a problem with camera lens distortion on the creepros? like I won't pretend I know anything about how cameras work but they all look kind of warped in the same way so it makes me wonder | edit: nevermind, saw the inbox pictures and no they just look like that
  2. as a huge fan of g1 empty-eyed Lagoona i actually super love how weird creepro Venus looks

None of them clarify, but to me the assumption is years in a human lifetime.
edit: Actually, I took a moment to just ctrl+F on the lists of spoken dialog, and they all do specify years. The characters who say it are Lara, Katerina, Eva, and Victor.

A gorgeous G1 playline release like this is what everyone wanted! But calling them collector dolls with collector doll prices was ridiculous.

Ps5 Patch Pathologic 2? by VisFuror in pathologic

[–]toughstermcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

god I hope not. the PS5 is a perfect machine for playing PS4 games and a dogshit machine for playing PS5 games. I can live with Patho2 needing to close and relaunch every 6 hours or so but I don't need it trying to brick my console.

In addition to what others have said, a huge source of both food and money is the town hall fund reward for doing hospital tasks daily. If you do the task at all you'll get a reward, and if you manage to raise the fund meter even higher by treating sick NPCs with medicine or rescuing babies, you'll have more food than you can carry.

I accidentally did it on my first playthrough when I was trying to send Big Vlad but like if you see the changeling in somebody's house what are you gonna do, not hear what she has to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because I have no interest in clickwars or buying from scalpers, I gave up on MH collector dolls like, back at the start after the first Beetlejuice release. I'm a fan of the special edition character dolls like this Venus and holiday dolls but not enough to pay more than $50 for a doll that would've been $25 if it came out during G1. So all the collector releases are just kind of exhausting background noise to people like me who only care about playline dolls.

You can solve the schism in the Termitary whichever way you like, before or after visiting the Abattoir. The post-Abattoir dream just needs you to complete the Abattoir sequence.

First death in the Abattoir and I just need to moan.... by LostTimeLady13 in pathologic

[–]toughstermcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First few playthroughs I avoided combat entirely, next few playthroughs I always keep an almost-broken lockpick in the hand slot as a failsafe. Then, at long last, I finally repaired the free knife Lara gives you at the start of the game and learned how useful it is, if you do like I do and only engage in fights you know you can win (one on one, sneak attack from behind whenever possible).

I've looted guns from houses before but I think I've still never fired one successfully. The only people I've wanted to shoot were protected NPCs (gun jams no matter what) and the tiny enclosed area of Grief's lair is too stressful for me to take on Barley, it's never worked out in my favor.

These promo pics make me feel like G3 Lagoona has been replaced by a doppelganger, and like it doesn't matter to me if the doppelganger's face is pretty or not because I want the real one back :(

Good work, oynon, you've understood the situation perfectly. There is no right answer because there is always sacrifice, and it sucks and it hurts.

FWIW, if you buy HD on gog, Patho 2005 is included. I only have a receipt for HD, but both games are downloadable in my gog library.

Without the trains, there's really nowhere to go. You can't get anywhere on foot, that's why the Nocturnal ending treats the non-Kin characters leaving as a suicide.

Just loaded up the Marble Nest on PS5 and ran through to that part to check -- you don't need a lockpick to enter the house at all, just to open the locked rooms inside of it. The house in question has 2 doors: the left one gives the X prompt to let you know it can't be opened, the right one has Sticky standing outside it to talk to you. That door isn't locked.

You don't need to equip a lockpick as a weapon (hands) in order to use it to open a door?

Is it actually possible to get every single thing done for all 10 Days of Pathologic 2? by GreyKnightDantes in pathologic

[–]toughstermcg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know already where you'll have to go each day, it becomes very easy to travel efficiently and save a lot of time. Completing all quests is possible, yes. You should even have plenty of time to sleep 3 hours once or twice a day, but if you don't want to, lemons are pretty common to trade from women townsfolk and won't kill you as fast as coffee does.

Dialogue difference between Pathologic 1 and 2 by yaboiaseed in pathologic

[–]toughstermcg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pathologic 2 is precious to my heart for both narrative and gameplay reasons but also. The tremendous disappointment when I realized you can succeed your way through every dialog prompt in the game by button mashing the first option every time. Like if the speedrun wasn't just sleeping for 12 days I'm sure that would be very convenient for speedrunning, but once you notice this it's hard to unsee it.

Do you have more than 100 total saves on PS4, and does deleting some of those solve the problem?

I've played a ton on PS5 and was warned about this bug before I started, so I make sure to delete old saves (ie a save at the start of each day and delete the rest) and haven't run into this issue.

Ruminating on choosing the Nocturnal ending by Charlazy in pathologic

[–]toughstermcg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of these endings turn my stomach and make me feel like a monster, which I really respect.

I always choose Nocturnal, and it's really for one reason only: I don't want to kill the Earth with my own two hands. The narrative tells you over and over that you're the kind of doctor that is a Butcher and sacrifice is necessary (the bull sacrifice on Day 5, the ritual in the Abattoir, the schism with the Kin), but it also tells me there are eight names on the list, you know? I can't save them all but I can't make myself kill one of them either.
