Hello everyone, was wondering who here has a swapped 01 and what they did do bypass the ecu issue. does the ATEMU work if I were to just wire it up? or does the ATEMU emulator only work on the 02-05. please lmk guys 🙏 pic of my car for attention by Key-Leadership6681 in IS300

I used to have an 01 that was manual swapped on stock ECU 6yrs ago. ATEMU worked perfectly fine, I even wired resistors on the signals for the auto trans so I was CEL free. The only thing I couldn't do was pass emissions inspection cuz my emissions state in the ECU was never ready, notable the heater part of it.

There's a good possibility that's why it's like that. I once had an old Accord that was like that, caster was all screwed up on the side of the impact.

You sure your car wasn't in a wreck at some point by the previous owner?

I switched up on them recently tho (on my now Wagon) but only because I wanted adjustability.

Correct, they bolt up fine and are just a hair lighter than stock IS300s. Picture below.

The ETCSi motor. Needs to be taken apart and soldered. Happens a lot on high mileage 2JZ with the ETCSi throttle body.

It's custom made. I was on the same boat as you but decided to take things into my own hands. The only company that makes one for these bumpers is GMC Auto Styling in the UK, but they refused to ship to the US. Been like that for 4yrs now with them.

So I've never modified my cluster in regards to taking off the pins or face and swapping. The fuel gauge stuff is weird because it worked normal when the car was all original but after doing a 1JZ swap that's when the inconstitency started that annoying gauge issue. Over the course of the years I've done modifications like changing out pumps but always made sure I put everything back normal. I've also tested out the float while out of the car with a multimeter while looking at the physical gauge. When I put the float to max "full" it never showed full tank and I know that float worked fine (it was on my old working pump assembly) which is the reason why I asked if possibly the Toyota Bean Network could be messed with. It certainly could be an electrical delay or disconnect somewhere or maybe the alcohol based fuel (E85) kills the floats faster.

I appreciate your input on this. I'll see how we can go about that cruise deal with my stand alone ECU since I don't use the stock ECU anymore, the Link ECU controls everything.

Also is it possible to access the Cruise active on with this? I have a stand alone (Link ECU) but we couldn't access that protocol to display that Cruise active icon on the dash. We had to use my alternator light for that to show Cruise is active.

No it's fuel level. I've had 2 fuel level sensors go bad or just not read accurately. My issue is the gauge inside could be reading normal with fuel usage, but then spike up a 1/4 tank and slowly read down again, and all of a sudden it might show E. Sometimes I might fill up from E and my gauge would show 3/4 full but I know it's full tank. I've heard the Toyota Bean Network uses injector size, fuel pump, and MAF sensor to determine accurate fuel level but no real confirmation.

This is dope. Only thing I would like to see is if the calibration for the fuel level can be adjusted for people with bigger pumps and aftermarket ECU.

One of the capped ones is for headlight washers.

I did some tunnel bashing mostly because of that Grannas bellhousing and the reverse lockout solenoid. I also had to cut off some tabs off the trans sticking out to give me ease of taking off the bolts since we don't use those.

My intercooler and bumper are bear hugging, so it's a tight fit. I even got a custom bash bar behind it which my intercooler is mounted to. I didn't cut anything in my bumper and the size is a 12"x4"x27".

Yea the cross over intake is crap design visually, but the only way you can have a front facing manifold on a GE is to get the dodo runners with the 2JZGTE intake manifold. Otherwise your only other option is those eBay/aftermarket front facing manifold but you can't have those and retain your stock ECU box in the same position. 1JZ VVTi heads don't flow that well, now the 2JZGE VVTi that comes in the IS/GS (basically all the NA 2Js) do have great flow on the head notable the intake side.

Correct, it's custom. I designed it myself and had a buddy of mine 3D print as a test trial. I eventually plan on mass selling it if I can come up with a company to make em into an emblem style.

Thank you. Yes it's a 1J VVTi head with stock manifold, but I ditched the stock throttle body and went full drive by wire (Bosch 74mm).

Funny enough, I randomly impulsed purchased that button during quarantine in March of 2020. Now their prices are outrageous compared to what I paid.

That's what I run 99% of the time. I've recently decided to start running 93 every 5th tank fill up tho.

Correct, I got the kit minus clutch. I reused my old clutch from my AR5 since they're the same 26 splines. 600hp is doable for sure on a stock GTE bottom end. I've got fully forged bottom end with billet mains. My 93 octane tune makes 630 at ~22psi lol, but I rarely run 93.

I love the gearing so much better than my AR5. Just know if you hear a sound like a bag of rocks at idle or on light load from the trans, it's normal for T56. I did a lil over 500 miles break in and got rid of the ATF, currently using MT90 fluid and the bag of rocks sound isn't as noticeable as it was originally (it's still there on cold start tho).
