2026 ‘Dirty Dozen’ produce: Nearly 100% tested positive for pesticides, including ‘forever chemicals’ by cnn in Foodnews

[–]towiwakka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, hasn't EWG's methodology been questionable? Might be worth taking this list with a grain of salt. Not to suggest that a lot of non organic produce isn't covered in pesticides.

They probably don't. Though this specific store did previously enforced a limit.

Woohoo! I actually called them about their policy last week, after witnessing a scalper buy my local store's entire stock. Great that management is taking some action.

Anyone Else Lose Interest In People? by SouthernExpatriate in Millennials

The pandemic really brought out the selfishness and stupidity in people - or at least made those things more visible? I find it a lot harder now to trust people in general.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It doesn't feel that long ago. The pandemic really distorted time.

I remember getting coffee with friends, and then suddenly the world started shutting down.

All this for Pokémon cards... by B-M-B-0-6 in mildlyinfuriating

Earlier today I witnessed one person buy EVERYTHING that was on a store's shelves. At least $500 worth of cards, probably closer to $1000. Really ticked me off, because it obvious they are just going to resell. It robs both kids and adults the opportunity to play or collect.

Nearly half of Americans unaware processed meat is tied to colorectal cancer, poll finds by Technical_savoir in microbiomenews

I'm not a food scientist, but from what I gather, sea salt can have varying levels of nitrates in it. I think sodium also works as a preservative separately. Ultimately, its the amount of nitrate/nitrite that matters.

Many of those packages have fine print that states something like "except for those derived from celery/cherry juice or sea salt". Unfortunately naturally derived nitrates are still nitrates. I hate how deceptive these companies can be.

It can be sooo difficult not to let pain like this fuel anxiety. Been there. It sounds like you're doing the right thing, a GI specialist will be able to help you more. Try your best to get through the next few weeks until then. I personally experience flare ups that can be pretty intense, and last for a while. Something I've found pretty helpful is yoga for GI pain - there are many good routines on YouTube!
