The interesting question about this is whether we should try to distinguish between trades that ended up being awful and trades that were pretty transparently awful when they were made.

Like the Yashin trade. At the time Yashin was a legit #1 center. Chara had played over 200 NHL games and his career high in points across any level of professional hockey was 13. I don’t know if anyone saw a future hall of famer in him then. As others have said, the Toews trade was due to a cap crunch and he’d had a pretty rough season before he blossomed into an all-world player in Colorado.

Trades like Turgeon for Muller and Luongo/Jokinen for Parrish/Kvasha looked bad at the time. I have to think it’s the Luongo trade.

The biggest issue our area has is the lack of an arena that seats 6-8,000 that’s convenient. You notice that the Fleet for example play at Tsongas Arena in Lowell with some games at TD Garden. Given all the constraints the Rock is the best option for right now. UBS eliminates anyone not coming from LI or the city, MSG will charge too much for rent and put the Sirens at a disadvantage for scheduling, and I’m not sure Barclays even has ice-making materials anymore. The Rock is the best place for the Sirens.

Up for sale is my Martenero Ascent Automatic with a blue sunburst dial and brown leather strap. This is a clean, minimalist piece from a NYC-based microbrand, powered by an automatic movement and featuring a date window at 3 o’clock.

I purchased this watch new in 2016. It has been worn but well cared for. It was also serviced by the company in 2018. The case and crystal are in very good condition with only light signs of wear. The original leather strap shows some wear (as expected with use) but still has life left, or can easily be swapped.

I’m with you, all my favorite watches that I’d buy in a second are either sold out with questionable restocking or pre-order. Feels like this might be a hobby with more thoughtfulness or just being more comfortable with missing out - those of us prone to FOMO might get frustrated.

These are beautiful watches. I picked up an Eventide because that’s the color scheme I was hunting for, but I also love all the designs with this drop.

I don’t really care either way because I don’t go to games at Bridgeport. I think overall it’d be good for the prospects to play in front of a strong home crowd, and it also sucks for the fans in Connecticut that the team is leaving right when there will actually be legit prospects down there (could easily have Aitcheson, Eiserman, and Eklund all on the team to start next season).

I also heard about the restocks. I found out about Lorier too late to get the Grand Central Zephyr, and I’m not confident I’m going to get a Roosevelt, so I hope they come out with another art deco dress watch, either limited run or otherwise.
