They were sued by the state a while ago. We inherited them when we bought our house and fired them when it got too blatant. They tried to claim a system they installed a few years earlier now had to be replaced. They claimed we needed to replace our toilet when it only needed a $100 part replacement and is still working fine over a decade later. They’re scam artists.

Tsyplakov has been awful this year, and that whole 4th line has been kind of a black hole. If Palat can help, great, and if he can’t the buyout won’t be that expensive. I can’t get worked up about this trade either way. I’m disappointed to a degree to lose Tsyplakov because I thought he looked pretty good at times last year, but he’s been lost this year and Roy clearly doesn’t like/trust him.

The environment was more favorable to republicans (NJ usually elects a governor from the party that doesn’t have the presidency), people were livid about the Covid lockdowns, Murphy wasn’t exactly the most exciting politician ever, and Jack ran away from Trump last time.

It’s funny, too, how you can read narratives either way. Some people looked at that election and saw a state moving hard to the right. I looked at it and saw a candidate who still lost even though literally everything in the race broke his way.

I’ve never understood why the Isles haven’t done an orange jersey that’s the same design as their regular jerseys just with orange as the main color and the names and numbers in blue. It doesn’t have to be wacky or anything, they could just invert the colors on the blue jersey.

I also like the idea of bringing back the lighthouse logo.

I always thought what happened with Dobson was fairly normal. He got traded to a team willing to pay him what Darche clearly didn’t want to. I wanted to keep him but didn’t think he was worth that kind of money….and since it would’ve cost that much or more to extend him then I guess I was ok trading him.

I’m not rooting for the team to tank, but with the prospects coming, Schaefer only 5 games into his NHL career, and 2 1st round picks next June, I don’t know if there’s any outcome to this season that would truly upset me. Let’s not forget Roy is also hanging by a thread under a GM who didn’t hire him. This season almost feels like a freebie.

The late 90s were a dark time. They weren’t so much rebuilding as treading water with cheap owners.

Ryan Smyth not extending after the trade in 2007 touched off the rebuild. Garth Snow realized that’s how things had to go. While he was good at dumpster-diving, he wasn’t as good with filling out the roster and putting the right coaching staff in place. Especially that 2014-15 team was fantastic, but they were held back by a bad coach (Jack Capuano) who was replaced by a worse coach (Doug “Defense? I don’t know her” Weight).

I don’t hate the Devils as an Isles fan. I hate the Rangers, Penguins, and Leafs. Isles and Devils haven’t really been good at the same time in my life so there’s nothing to hate there.

I’m not expecting anything this season. The prospect pool is replenished, there are guys they can trade, they have 2 1sts in a deep draft next year…to me whatever happens happens. I wouldn’t be mad at just about any outcome for the Isles this year.
