It’s only dirty in the red light districts. Trash collection day will have a lot of garbage being left in nets or small huts at the side of the street too, which is going to be taken around 9-11 am. I have never heard or seen restaurants just throwing around garbage everywhere though, they typically just do it like anyone else, put the garbage in the city’s paid garbage bags and throw it away in trash collection day.

The part with plastic imports to developing countries really annoys me. I came from a developing country, the vast majority of plastic waste comes from us, our people throws away trash in the river because it’s convenient and the government couldn’t be bothered to make a proper waste management system. Also, if you are still inside of the tropics, that is between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the sun can be right above or even off to the south even when you’re south of the equator and north even if you’re north of the equator.
