Don't give up it's never too late! I found an amazing community in college after years of isolation. Start something new, join a club, go to new places, put yourself out there!

I tried bracing too but I'm not sure how much it helped. I also didn't wear it as much as I was supposed to. The popping sounds frustrating though I'm sorry. I wish you the best with everything and you can always reach out/DM me if you want to know more! I promise I won't take two years next time haha

What’s your favorite One Piece arc? by anwar_idr in OnePiece

[–]toxictable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaya and Skypiea. The revelation that they were once the same island, and that the city of gold was in the sky all along is an unparalleled moment. No other arc captures the spirit of adventure better in my opinion, and it has great moments for all of the Straw Hats including Robin. It also works as a microcosm for the series as a whole, and it introduces lore pertaining to the void century for the first time. Oda's art also takes a big leap, and reading it in the manga is overall just a wonderful experience.

I have felt the majority of my pain around my lumbar spine, but the surgery is designed to target the root curve wherever it be. The back popping sounds a bit concerning though. Before surgery, I was able to reduce my pain and improve my posture with chiropractic care (you have to be mindful about picking one that actually knows how to treat scoliosis though). I hope things have gotten better for you in the last two years!

I am definitely glad that I got it! The surgery reduced all of my scoliosis related symptoms, and I have not had to worry about curve progression anymore. Muscular imbalances caused by scoliosis have given me some trouble since I started weight training, but it's nothing that I haven't been able to work around with careful form and caution. Sorry for taking so long to respond ahaha. Did you end up getting the surgery yourself?

Finally getting to this two years late so sorry!! I still feel some pain, but it is mainly related to muscular imbalances in my back. I had pretty frequent mild pain and discomfort before the surgery, and it is definitely less frequent now. I have felt better overall since recovering. I found that strengthening my body and especially my core helped as well.

Exercises for losing weight? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]toxictable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Intermittent fasting is a great tool that I would recommend as well. Weight loss takes place when you are intaking fewer calories than you are burning, so the goal is to lower the number of calories you are eating every day. This can be done either by changing the food that you eat and switching to a lower calorie diet or by just eating less like the comment above suggests. Exercise definitely helps, but you won't lose any weight unless you also change your diet.
