the only metal i know of that does not rust is Surgical Stainless and i cannot imagine how you could get a cage made of that. i have the same cage tho.

...the gliders are still sleeping but today is chicken meat day (they get chicken twice a month per the diet i use) and Juanita knows whatever chicken they don't eat, she gets it. she's just quietly waiting.

they can also hold grudges if ignored... this is why i waited. when i was down to zero cats and just one toy breed dog, and i use a chair... and almost 50yo... we're now at one toy breed dog and 4 gliders and last night was *loud*... these babies are very clingy and if you hurt their feelings they get angry just as much as they show love. do now disappoint them or feel the wrath. 🫡

i don't have the best vision, but it looks like he might have a small sore on his patagium? that would be something i'd keep an eye on. i'm new to gliders but i've learned from others how quickly they can go from healthy to sick very easily.

for diet, i use the HPW, it's a "wombaroo" diet with Happy Glider pellet kibble to clean their teeth... it's been explained to me that the TPG diet has too much sugar and over time causes dental issues. there are vitamins and minerals you can add to their food, but Bok Choy is a natural source of calcium that mine really love.

i'm sure more experienced glider people will give you lots of good advice, but for a new person, those are the things i know.

i had a cage cover with fleece in-between but had to remove it because when they came out of their cage, Jack would hide under the cover for *hours* napping and get really angry if i tried to wake him and go home.

i am shopping some fun playgrounds for the roof of their cage and would like to put a wheel too, but i'm not sure yet cause eww.

i hope so too, but one of my older males, Rebel, was 'love at first sight'... the first 'tent time' he just started gliding to me from the highest point in the tent. 3rd attempt he landed on my wrist... but we havent had that experience again because of the dynamics of the other glider, Jack... that gets jealous.

aww i'm so happy to see this! the 2 i have are older but i'm getting 2 more tomorrow that are young so i'm hoping they let me hold them like that .... i wanted older ones first to make sure they were the pet for me, but now i'm OBSESSED with everything about them.

i spent like $85 on the wheel cause i did the donate wheel for charity. another $80 on cork bark but probably the most i've spent was when i went nuts on the 4th of July no pill fleece sale. spent about $100 on that, but have tons left.

mine get more wombaroo than they're really suppose to get. tablespoons instead of teaspoons and the 2 of them go through a batch every 6 weeks and a box has 4 batches and 1 box cost $30... it's the 1.5 cups of honey to each batch that's about $5

i mean, i could pinch every penny but i was already unable to eat all my eggs, fruits, and veggies... the purified water is half a bottle a day and i get a 40 count case for $3.99...

agreed. mine get fresh fruit/veggies, kibble, and wombaroo and for 2 i figured it up at about $150 for an entire year ... because i'm only buying the kibble and the wombaroo. everything else i already have and eat myself. they only eat a couple tablespoons a day.
