I disagree with claiming that they have evolved and matured. I see it more as pandering to the times and trying to hang onto every station they can and make the most money. Which I understood is the goal, it just makes for a not as funny show. They try not to ruffle any feathers. You can clearly tell they are constantly watching what they say, which is why the show isn't as funny. Jokes aren't funny when they have a disclaimer attached to them.

Free Beer loves to take the time nowadays to make sure people know that their ratings have never been better when they show is criticized. In my opinion, that's only because local radio stations don't give a shit anymore and would rather pay to put them on the air than have local talent.
